With the Nuggets reportedly interested in #4, would you guys trade Calderon and #4 for Lawson and #7? It would only add about $4 million to the payroll, and you'd still have room for a couple of eight-figure FAs. I'm thinking if you do that, you draft WCS at 7, sign two FAs like Monroe and Matthews, and go with WCS/Monroe/Melo/Matthews/Lawson. Thoughts?

I'd ask for Nurkic and Gallo. GALLO > CHANDLER. OLD DEBATES REHASHED LET'S DO IT!

the Knicks could use a wing defender, that's why I would take Chandler.

If somehow we could convince Kevin Love to sign, I'd draft Cauley-Stein, I'm convinced this is who Phil wants.
A front court of Melo,Love and Cauley-Stein I'm liking alot.
Start there sign either Carroll or D.Green and give Galloway a shot. Resign Shved and Amundson, go from there.

Give Calderón to them!

This would actually be a perfect trade for the Cavs

I always felt he was overrated as a defender AND, IIRC, the stats backed that up -- that he was never more than an average defender.

no hes not a great defender, I agree with you, but an average defender would be an upgrade over what they have.

 Jesus our standards are so low. We can only go up from the bottom -- this is what it's come to

Meh, they're both expiring. I wouldn't be super picky. I'm very high on Nurkic and liked him in last year's draft - dude is a hot head, but such a soft touch for someone his size.

lol I just don't see Gallo getting enough good shots without a PG to break down the defense.

I like him alot, and I assume so do the Nuggets. They want to rebuild, and trading him away would be a step back for that franchise. It will probably never happen but yeah if that deal were to ever present itself the Knicks should consider it.

hmmm ,i wonder why indeed

THjr is not shown to be a better shooter than Shumpert or JRSmith. Both Smith and Shumpert are better defenders than THjr. Calderon has shown to be a better shooter but a far worse defender. Consider salaries. I dont think Cavs waste assets for that kind of return.

How does that make you better than the Lin, Gallo, and Wil fans who root for them over NY?

Knicks should go after Jordan Hill for a 4 yr deal at a reasonable rate.

Knicks to work out Euro-guard Daniel Hackett. From P&T:

"The Knicks are using this time to work out not just draft-eligible guys, but basketball veterans on the fringes of the league. They brought (or are bringing in yet) Vitor Faverani at some point, and here's another one.

Hackett's 27, went to USC, and has been playing in Italy since he went undrafted in 2009. He joined the national team at EuroBasket in 2011, as pictured above. Maybe Hackett will come to Summer League or training camp or something. No harm in giving him a shot."

i don't know **** about the CBA, so if the numbers are off, forgive me. i'm dropping this off here specifically to see if you guys can clarify for me whether or not these moves are possible. if they are, or even if they're pretty close, i think some variation of these two rosters can be a really solid team next year with enough flexibility for a slight re-tool/upgrade in the 2016 offseason

#4 (mudiay or porzingis), calderon ($7.4M) for #7 (WCS), wilson chandler ($7.2M)

chandler to CHI for taj gibson ($8.5M)

reason CHI bites:

noah/etc
gasol/mirotic
chandler/mcdermott
butler/snell
rose/etc
+ $1.3M more to spend

sign andre miller and elton brand

WCS ($2.5M)/cole ($1.4M)
monroe ($15.7M)/gibson ($8.5M)/brand ($1.4M)
melo ($22.9M)/early ($845k)/thanasis ($845k)
green ($10.4)/THJ ($1.3M)
galloway ($845k)/miller ($1.4M)

of course, if russell falls to #4, you draft him, hope to sign LMA or gasol, and if you can't, you stretch calderon, sign deandre, sign carroll, and you work with that until next year

jordan ($19M)/cole ($1.4M)
melo ($22.9M)/amundson ($1.4M)/brand ($1.4M)
carroll($8.2)/early ($845k)/thanasis ($845k)
russell ($3.4M)/THJ ($1.3M)
galloway ($845k)/shved (MLE)/miller ($1.4)

lots of possibilities tbh. at the end of the day, i am happy with russell, mudiay, or WCS being our rookie. great year to have tanked

Nurkic/Jason Smith/WCS
Wilson/WCS
Melo/Carroll(10)
Carroll/Schved
Lawson(12.4)/Gallo

#7/Lawson/Nurk/Wilson
for
#4/Calderon/THJ/ +?

this has a pick coming back, a legit starter and 2nd scorer, and rotation players, and youth.
No allstar but Nurkic is a triangle big on a rookie scale that is a steal.

Lawson, Carroll, Melo, and Wilson to carrry the load until 2016.
It may be too much for Denver but #7 and Lawson is just not enough.

Melo playing his minutes at the 4 is an absolute must this offseason.
BAF Suns

Chris Paul / Patrick Beverley / Shamorie Ponds
Buddy Hield / Timothy Luwawu / Stanley Johnson
Kendrick Nunn / Matisse Thybulle / Darius Miller
RJ Barrett / Kyle Kuzma / Dwayne Bacon
DeAndre Jordan / Kenrich Williams / DJ Wilson
