Re: Discussing Other Teams' Moves Part 5
The thought of Beal winning a championship with the Cavs next year almost makes me want to throw up. No thanks.

I don't think we have the assets to get DC when LA is offering the number 2 pick. I would offer Beal, Gortat, and a 2016 and 2018 first. But I don't think that get's it done. I would keep 19 because you need to fill holes at that point. We would still be limited in free agency and we would still have a lot of work to do.
Yes. Owners can do that.
And
I wish people would see that ... Cousins in DC would not be good right now. He is still a mess and a franchise killer. Let him land somewhere else to figure it out. Hou might be a good fit for him. I would like to see Phil and Fisher get a hold of him.
And losing Beal would be horrible right now. Wall and Beal are a set. Let the stew simmer. We have something nice going on here. Ted is not allow Beal to go in a trade for Cousins. Beal is one of the franchises faces.
Stick with the plan. We are on good footing. Cousins to DC will be available down the road. Be patient. Don't pull an Abe.
Love is likely going to LA and if they land Wade that would be interesting. Wade, Kobe, Love ? They would have to find some defense though. They would swop picks and get Montrezl Harrell, Kevon Looney or Rondae Hollis-Jefferson.

A Beal/Love swap would be interesting but hasn't Love been getting injured every year as well? BTW, that's a deal that puts Cleveland over the top even without Irving, given their frontcourt depth and assuming Beal is healthy.

Re: Discussing Other Teams' Moves Part 5
NeNe and a draft pick and Beal for Love is not a good trade for the Wizards.
Love is a good player but he's not dominant in the right facets of his game to warrant him getting such a haul for him, with the season he just had, his injury history and his difficulties fitting into Cleveland with LeBron who is just as unselfish a player as Wall. I view that as more of an indictment of Love than LeBron, considering how LeBron has proven he can tailor his game to changing personnel surrounding him.
Now as for making a trade this offseason, the only I'd consider is for DMC, and only because he could be much more dominant at his position than either Love or Beal at theirs and that's considering max peaks being reached by all. Before last season I wouldn't be of this view, because I felt DMC had a lot of emptiness to his stats, and his efficiency was highly questionable for a player of his caliber. But in the last year I saw a player blossoming with the potential for greatness in his future. I think having Wall around would definitely have a much needed positive effect on DMC, because they have a preexisting history together. In the end this obsession with acquiring a stretch 4 the new fad in the league is unnecessary as I think having a dominant PG, C and SF would be a much better combination than having a dominant PG, stretch 4 and SF. If the PF we were discussing was LMA, or Blake Griffin then yeah I'd be much more inclined to discuss acquiring those guys, but not for Kevin Love. If you can get him cheaper than maybe, but still I'd prefer pursuing Cousins first for a multitude of reasons.

Bosh publicly warned Love before the season even started that Lebron's ball dominance would have an adverse effect on Love's game. Love is a strong post player but was reduced to being a spot up shooter playing with Lebron.
Meanwhile Wall's teamates coming from other teams have routinely had career years playing with him.

I think it's a safe bet that the Sacramento leadership combo of George Karl and Vlade Divac ain't gonna work. Apparently Karl now wants Javale McGee. He doesn't want Cousins, but he wants more of Javale... Vlade probably can't wait to here more leaks from Karl.

It's all the owner's fault.
Should have let Corbin finished the season, then let Vlade pick his own coach.
Terrible.

We could see it all starting to crash when they fired Malone early last season.
And right before the draft seems like a good time for a smart team to fleece them.

When Karl had McGee in Denver he called him "lazy and crazy" and didnt play him much. Now Karl wants him with the Kings?

Re: Discussing Other Teams' Moves Part 5
Monta Ellis opts out. Sign him to the max? J/K
But seriously, saw that Miami is supposedly interested. If it comes down to Ellis at $10M for 70+ games versus Wade at $20M (or whatever he wants) for 55+ games, hard to fault Miami if they picked Ellis IMO.
From Dallas' perspective, say that they were supposedly interested in Danny Green. But that would take them out of the running for Aldridge or Jordan. Maybe whichever of Spurs/Mavs gets Aldridge, the other team gets Green?

As a backup taking the minimum, he wouldn't be terrible.

Green would make a lot more sense for Miami than Ellis, imo - if they don't keep Wade. Playing with Ellis would drive Dragic nuts even more than playing with Isaiah Thomas did.

Re: Discussing Other Teams' Moves Part 5
Huge news out of Charlotte, in a recent tweet from Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, he reported that the Charlotte Hornets are shopping Cody Zeller hard in search of a wing player. It was also reported in the tweet that Frank Kaminsky of Wisconsin will be a serious candidate for the Hornets with the ninth overall pick in the draft.

WOW, Batum for Henderson+Vonleh. Hornets than trade Barnes for Lamb.
I like the latter deal obviously for the Hornets, but they have to resign Batum for it to make sense. Do they trade MKG now?

Batum can play SG some I think. Start both MKG and him. Terrorize wing players with length.

You're right that Love isn't without his question marks. But neither is Beal IMO. Is he a guy that can make a good team great? Or is he just a "good but not great" guy that gets hurt every year?
We also have to consider the contracts. Love at the current max this summer might not end up being a ton more than Beal on a near-max deal signed in 2016. Especially if we stick to the current plan and up striking out on KD, giving Beal's camp all of the leverage in negotiations. (Of course, contracts would be a reason to prefer Cousins since he's already locked up for the next 3 years with no options).
If Love's shoulder checks out and Cleveland will take Nene+Beal (and Sacto isn't bluffing about keeping Cousins), that's tough to turn down IMO. We'd just have to make sure we sign Love to the right deal. Maybe a 3 year max deal with options in 2016 and 2017 (if that's possible), and then we hope he doesn't opt out until 2017 when he take advantage of the second cap bump?
What about a 3-way where Wizards get Cousins and the Kings get Love? Not sure if Love would be want to go to Sacramento.
