Occam's razor, guys.

There is no trade, it was a bad pick, now we move forward unfortunately and press on.

And then if this kid turns into Eric Bledsoe, everyone will be raving about how much of a "steal" it was. Sports fans are funny, man.

What do you think moving forward and pressing on means? We do what we can with him and hope he ends up a steal. Doesn't change what I said.

And Bledsoe is overrated

The only thing I can think of is that Danny sees Rozier as a higher potential guy whereas both of those guys are kind of what-you-see-is-what-you-get.

Rozier checks off at least two of those categories, and I think he probably shot the ball better in workouts which lead to the "reach". A Terry Rozier who's knocking down jumpers is a lotto pick.

And to irie: it doesn't matter where you're drafted. Once you are in the league you define your own destiny. No one is going to shy away from throwing max money at Dray, Jimmy or Kawhi this offseason. Rozier could be better than a couple of the PG's taken in the lotto. We shall see.

One need going into the draft: talent. High-end talent.

Rozier has amazing talent. One of the best athletes in the draft.

The questions around him are what is he offensively? Is he an SG or a PG? Can he shoot. The talent is obvious though... and he's in the mold of other Ainge picks in this range with some interesting parallels to Rondo, Bradley and Tony Allen.

You think Bradley and Allen are high end basketball talent?

Honestly? Cuz both of them suck. Rozier at least offers athletic upside...

I don't think Portis sucks, but Dekker is a bum.

Yeah, I don't know.. It's disappointing because we were all ready for a trade up, and then because we all thought it was Portis. But if it was a 15 player draft, who of all the players picked since Rozier would you rather have? Portis fits a need.. Looney is intriguing to me but could be there at 28. I still hate the pick but it's defensible.. Looks like he has an NBA first step, at least..

This is literally the last day where draft position matters. Once these guys step on the court it will just come down to who wants it more and who produces. 6 months from now, people could be saying that Rozier is better than Mudiay. No one cares where the guy was drafted after tonight.

Tony Allen is one of the most impactful defenders in the league. The fact that he is a defensive stud makes him incredibly valuable.

Take Norman Powell or Olivier Hanlan at twenty-eight just to draft another undersized guard.

You guys going to double down on all these so called "assets" that Danny has in in his back pocket?????? His only assets are the Brooklyn picks. Period. All these worthless in season trades he makes for mid to late 1st rders are simply to stroke his fn ego and get the fanboys to massage his balls some more. Fn guy is overrated as it gets.

Who is this guy you want? What player did you love? Outside of Okafor, nothing that came after has been an incredible haul.

Sure, would have liked Winslow at No. 9. But, that's not worth an entire season.

How about making sure we tank just enough to get a Top 7 pick at minimum??????? What's the point in NOT tanking when teams don't even value the current players you have enough to flip you the #9 pick for the #16, #28 and a player? Seriously? Doesn't that tell you all you need to know about how little the rest of the league values your current talent and picks? Cmon, wake up man.

High-end means elite talent. As in best or second best guy on a title team.

That's what Boston was chasing tonight.

Very weird pick, but I trust Ainge to figure it out at the end of the day. At least were never gonna have to worry about athleticism with Rozier

I'm being optimistic but maybe Ainge has a deal in place with Smart as a key piece to get someone like Cousins. Rozier could be the replacement PG, and Ainge is thinkin ahead...

Dekker had the second highest 2p% in the entire draft after Okafor. I don't think he's a bum.

I wasn't criticizing you, dude. I was speaking in general and essentially agreeing with you. And come on; if you can get Eric Bledsoe at 16, you take it and run with it. I don't care how "overrated" he is.
