To be fair, we did draft Fab Melo. Colton Iverson too.

SmartWentCrazy wrote:Ok. Last post for tonight... The one thing Ainge said he didn't want to do was end up with 4 rookies on the roster. I hate to be that guy, but, were gunna end up with 4 rookies on the roster. This draft was horrendous, plain and simple.

I actually really liked Rozier as a player, but people saying "he has Westbrook speed" need to cut the crap and remove the green tinted glasses. Marcus Banks had unreal speed too, and he sucked.

Danny Ainge has done a fantastic job accumulating assets. He has not done well utilizing these assets to acquire talent. This is not to say Ainge is doing a bad job, or that he should be fired; rather, he needs to accept that the job he did tonight was not up to his standards.

Yes, I understand it takes two sides to make a deal, but don't run your mouth all week on how you expect to trade up if your not prepared to follow through with it. I had no expectations of Ainge a week ago, but he consistently ran PR on how this was the year he'd trade up and/or make a splash. He was not prepared to follow through on the rhetoric he spewed, and that makes me disappointed in his performance on the job.

In regards to tanking-- yeah it's a dick punch seeing Justise Winslow go 10, knowing full well we could (and arguably should) have been drafting in that position. Oh well, you win some you lose some. At the end of the day, I'll follow Danny down whatever path he chooses. What's not acceptable, in my opinion, is playing both sides in his comments to the media. Make a choice, make it final, and do it the best you can. I don't want to hear peoe say you wish you missed the playoffs, that's just crap. Don't half-@$$ anything. And don't piss on my face and tell me it's raining.

I'm still optimistic for the upcoming year, though I fully expect us to completely strike out in free agency. I'm fine with marginal improvement and winning 42-44 games next year. But, for the last time, Ainge and Wyc need to cut the $h!t with the rhetoric they spew about fireworks and trading up. Stop setting expectations from your fans that your not prepared to meet. I wasn't in a position to be disappointed tonight until you spoke otherwise.

Sorry for the long winded rant.

Kudos! Excellent post. Not sure what the offers were and not sure if I wouldn't want to keep our bullets in the chamber for trades in the offseason for proven talent? Opportunities are still going to exist. Teams are going to dismantle. Denver, Portland, Toronto to name a few. Maybe these assets have more value outside of the draft.

Overall, I agree there was a lot of hype that lead to hope that lead to huh?

Celtics weren't able to trade up tonight. That's not a victory for you? Right now you are actively rooting against the team because of a personal vendetta, it's gross.

Root for the team not you being right?

Hey noob... I think you have been a good addition here, but how about staying out of conversations that predate you by a couple of years?

The anti-tank crowd deserves all of this, even if we all wanted the team to do better.

Truth hurts though. Besides I'm less of a noob than a reregisterer, but I don't pimp status on a Celtics' fan site.

I've been reading this site for over 10 years. This argument has done some ugly things to this site. People are losing sight of what is important, the Celtics. I understand the reason, but the debate should be over. Over as soon as Ainge traded for IT2, it was clear it was over. You don't see the value of the shift fine, but to actively root against the team you pledge allegiance to? It's a bad look.

He's a clown baby, trust me, I've been having this same debate since before they traded for Thomas.

He's going to get left in the dust soon enough. That's what happens when you adhere to outdated modes of thinking and you can't understand what is happening with Stevens and the Celtics becaude you're hung up on "stars".

The Celtics are still strongly positioned to add impact players in trades and free agency over the next two seasons. But be prepared to deal with a lot of ignorance from limited thinkers and mediocre basketball minds.

Stevens isn't building things the way certain people want and I expect the harassment and ignorance to continue until Ainge pushes some chips to the center of the table. At that point, they'll be exposed for the frauds that they are.

Ainge pulled a Kahn and selected 3 guards. That was surprising. I get BPA and all, but not even a Euro stash? I smell a trade. Well, I'm hoping for a trade.

Had to work through most of the draft, just getting eyes on it now....Rozier is a WTF for me. Happy about Hunter and Mickey...lets see what happens now.

Rozier was no where near my radar, but he is pretty quick. hope it works out. would haver rather had about 4 other guys that wrere still on the board at 16.
