The Celtics are still strongly positioned to add impact players in trades and free agency over the next two seasons. But be prepared to deal with a lot of ignorance from limited thinkers and mediocre basketball minds.

Stevens isn't building things the way certain people want and I expect the harassment and ignorance to continue until Ainge pushes some chips to the center of the table. At that point, they'll be exposed for the frauds that they are.

Let's be real for a minute. You have talked down to me, and I have degrees from three schools that wouldn't let you mop their floors. You've talked down to BfB, who is a professional in the field. You have talked down to truth18, even after he told you he has been published in the Paris Review.

We are all people who take **** smarter than your entire lineage.

You aren't an expert in the field because you watch synergy tape in your mother's basement, or because you play pickup with a guy who once played D1.

Never mind the scoreboard that you are getting owned on, I've passed on stuff here that came from Jerry West.

Why do I need to listen to you about anything, given your track record and attitude?

You got your stool pushed in tonight even more than I could have ever expected, and you know it. I know you know it, and you know that I know you know it.

Grow up and deal with that, kid.

Sure. But again. There was that Toronto game in February where the Celtics, like, totally owned man.

Let's try not to throw ourselves off any bridges just yet, fellas. There MAY be light at the end of this dark, confusing tunnel of a draft night.

Also, LBF said we were guaranteed a meeting with Love.

LBF also said he heard we were picking Portis right before we took Rozier. Just messing with ya, LBF. =P

Not sure what people were expecting with the 16th and 28th picks. This is what happens when you underestimate your coach and he messes up your lottery plans.
Afam don't get your hopes up on message board insiders/rumors...I love your passion but I feel like you'd be on suicide watch after a non eventful night like tonight.
patience my man. Our time will come.

I guess a good lesson from this is that 99% of the twitter stuff and rumors are complete horse **** and any azzhoe with a twitter account can have a 'source'.

Honestly if Smart gets traded in a great deal (like for Noel, or Cauley-Stein/Mclemore, with Smart to DEN), I actually love the Rozier pick, that's the weird thing.. A horrible fit, and we have a logjam at the 1.. but Rozier has kind of an Elfrid Payton vibe, without the same passing or savvy.. Like he can just get into the lane on day 1..

Absolutely. Once the positioning is clear it'll be far more valuable. Unless the impossible happens and the Nets end up in the 20s.

I expect 50 wins next year and a few more the year after. That's my criteria for success, not how many wonder children we get via the Nets picks.

How do you not see anything special with Winslow? Almost everyone says he was the steal of the draft. He should be a very good defensive player, he offers toughness and intensity, was a major factor in his team winning a national championship, played for an all time great coach, he's only 19 and very strong which means not only can he play right away but he'll easily transform into a strong NBA body over the years, he's a good offensive player as well. What's not to like other than him needing to work on his shot more?

Who do you consider special from this draft?

Judging by his HS rank and his play at Duke, Winslow is a slightly below elite-level talent. He has an all around game. By most accounts, high IQ, high character, and passionate - but with just enough concerns about focus/attitude to give detractors fodder.

In other words, Winslow is pretty comparable to PP and it will probably take Curm a while to come around on him.

The Danny Ainge interview with Kyle Draper, Cedric Maxwell & Brian Scalabrine gave me a little hope about the celtics going after top players. The words superstars & all stars came out of Danny Ainge mouth. I was speechless.

I have spent time around Danny Ainge.

This is not a happy Danny Ainge.

Bad night for the Celtics.

I'very heard plenty of detractors on Winslow. I'very heard him called the ultimate roll player. Not as tall as you would like him, measurables don't add up, and many thought his shooting percentage was a fluke especially his three when his free throw rate was factored in. He's an all effort guy and nothing but a winner, but I think he was overhyped after the tournament and obviously his value dropped through the draft process.

I am not sold on Rozier, but it appears Danny drafted guys who at least have one elite skill.

Rozier ability to penetrate
Hunter elite range
Mickey elite shot blocker

I'm ignoring Thornton because he just pisses me off, but I suppose speed.

Give this stuff a rest, guys.. I don't care who works in what field or who has what degree or who hung out with what celebrity on what boat, we're all just talking basketball, and sometimes we're right, sometimes we're wrong.. Some of us more often than others.. I appreciate the posters like BfB who have technical insight I don't.. But just let your opinions and track records speak for themselves.

Humble has some kind of stick up his *ss lately- no offense- about what a great basketball mind he is, but it's not a competition.. He was the only one hyping Avery Bradley for years when we all thought he was a bust.. And Eric knows his **** but was also acting like Jajuan Johnson was some creatine away from stardom.

There's 30 actual GMs in the league who disagree about this stuff, with good cause, it's a lot of judgment calls.. At least half of them made the wrong pick tonight, and that's if this is a good draft. If it's a bad draft, one guy who went between 17 and 30 will be any good and a couple of stars went in the second round. Some of the top 10 picks will bust, probably at least one of the guys we were desperate to trade up for. And none of us know what's going to happen next for Boston- that's why this sh*t is fun. Maybe we trade for Noel and Damian Lillard, max Love and Tobias Harris, make it to the conference finals next year and win a ring the year after.. Or maybe we strike out on the big free agents and win 40..

There are 5 positions in basketball and the Celtics have a thousand picks in the next couple years. Hard not to expect some duplicates...

Except there's literally like 7 guards. That's a little more than duplicate.

Sick, heard the Red Claws need guards tho

Been saying it all night. Trade is coming. DDB seems to have intel on it. I have only suspicions.

But something is percolating.

Major lesson tonight about the NBA in 2015. Some will learn it. Some won't.

Again, Celtics HQ did not get what they wanted tonight. Not even close.

Spin as you feel you must to protect your worldview.

I'm being serious too. It's not hard to understand. We are not tanking. Why? Because we have Brad Stevens as coach. Period.

If Ainge wanted to tank for more than 2 years, then he hired the wrong Mother Fu**ing coach. Brad Stevens is the man.

People here can talk **** all they want about Ainge, Brad, and these owners. The fact is with a lot of haters on this board, it was hard for them to see how well the Celtics did last here after the All Star break. This weak ass roster was able to win more games than 27 teams in the 2nd half of the season. Guess which were the only 2 teams that won more games than us? The 2015 champs and the 2014 champs.

Return to Boston Celtics
