Free Agency Thread - Will meet w/Monroe, pg. 18

Dwyane Wade signing with the Bucks, for Jason Kidd, to play with Giannis and Jabari, would in my opinion be the closest thing to a Reggie White move for the Bucks than we've ever had.

A domino the size of Wade and us experiencing some success in the next 2-3 years which would have to be at least a 2nd round playoff series and hopefully ECF finals appearance would do more good for our franchise than many here are willing to admit. There's a number of reasons it's not the perfect move, but the risk is worth the future benefits.

I actually completely agree here. Normally I'd be against this--I'm not even confident it'd work out here--but if he signed here, it could positively impact this franchise for many years.

I'd be down for that.

I hope we can move Mayo/Bayless this summer.

I am sick of MCW and its not even the season. If he can't shoot he needs to be moved and I just feel like Kidd won't do it. He doesn't fit this team and makes people say DJ wouldn't fit this team because he can't shoot. No MCW doesn't fit this team because he can't shoot unless he learns how quick I say move him as soon as possible.
Bucks fandom bringing me happiness still seems like a dream.

Player A: Shot 230/668 (34.4%) on jumpshots last season. 32.4% from 3 on 88/272 shooting

Player B: Shot 174/598 (29.1%) on jumpshots last season. 23.5% from 3 on 36/153 shooting

Spoiler:
Player A: Eric Bledsoe (http://stats.nba.com/player/#!/202339/stats/shooting/)

Player B: MCW (http://stats.nba.com/player/#!/203487/stats/shooting/)

Now obviously Bledsoe is a better PG and shooter right now but let's not pretend he will completely open up the offense for us. I expect MCW to get a little better this offseason. That said, I'd trade MCW for him in a heartbeat but he is getting over-rated on this board. I like him but wouldn't part with anything better than MCW/Henson and even that is pushing it.

There really isn't anything that scares me about signing Wade, whatever he brings on the court is gravy considering the effect he would have off the court so the question to me is what kind of price tag do you put on that. I think it would be an interesting opportunity for Wade to take kind of a hybrid role as he transitions from player to coach where better a place to do than close to home with HOFer Jason Kidd, fellow Chicagoan Jabari Parker, and Giannis of course!

I think green would be a backup plan for Middleton. I would rather have Middleton and no need for him with Oj and Vaughn. (Plus two stud SFs on the roster)

I would love if we were able to sign Green and retain Middleton. Then you move Mayo.

The nets are a cautionary tale in tying up money in aging superstars. It can go bad quick and ruin goodwill with fans if expectations aren't met.

I just thought that he copied and pasted the template from Middleton earlier in the piece, and forgot to change the outcome.

Did note that he suggests that RoLo should sign with the Bucks.

Wade and Chandler? Am I on the right board?

You guys are starting to go off the rails.

So I saw there was like 20 more pages in this thread, checked to see if something legit was happening.

Turns out Wade. Yeah, nah.

How does wade even fit on the roster if Middleton comes back? I would actually like the move.

Ahh, now I see what happened. Hammond acquired Vasquez so there wouldn't be enough money left for Kidd to sign Wade. Smart move, Mr. Hammond. Smart move.

Depending on who you ask. If we sign Wade and/or Chandler we're not "owning the future" according to some. If we don't sign any big name free agents, we're "still stuck in the Kohl era" according to some. Of course a lot of those folks, the complain about everything contingent, will overlap and contradict themselves, as we've seen far too often on this forum...

My only problem with signing DWade is the durability issue. But healthy DWade would be a monster signing for the team, the arena, the city, and the casual fan.

As others have stated, the fact that we're even talking to some of these top tier free agents reflects Jason Kidd's credibility around the league.

Wade, ugh. If they really wanted him, let's go back a week and not acquire Vasquez's contract just yet. Keep your assets until after F/A. I am over this win-now while rebuilding ****.
Go Bucks!

I like the idea of signing Chandler, even if he does decline every year after he signs. He'd be a great vet to have around to help steer the ship and develop the young bigs. Hopefully they'd also add another young big to develop such as Koufos, Biyambo, or O'Quinn.

I don't like the idea of signing Wade. But it's nothing against the guy. There'd be a serious logjam at the wing, and there's no way that he can play the point. If he'd be willing to come in as a 6th man, fine, but I have my doubts about him even coming as a starter.

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
