When was the last time a free agent agreed to sign with one team and then change his mind?

I remember John "God told me to sign with Sacramento" Salmons after he agreed to sign with Toronto.

Maybe this will be the impetus for getting rid of the stupid moratorium period.

There is nothing against it in the rules, but it would classless for Deandre to change his decision. Other free agents relied on it and Dallas relied on it.

I think it's pretty classless for the Clippers to continue like this after the agreement for the same reasons.

In the article it says that
Jordan has told people close to him since picking Dallas that he's still "torn" and "unsure" about his choice.

I hope it happens just so we can get an epic Mark Cuban rant.

Sources told ESPN's Chris Broussard that Jordan has told people close to him since picking Dallas that he's still "torn" and "unsure" about his choice.

This.

With a over a week of time between when free agents can commit and when they're actually bound to their commitment makes a situation like this inevitable. Either start free agency on the 9th or start it on the 1st. Don't sort of start it on the 1st and officially start it on the 9th.

Not NBA but Emmanual Sanders agreed to go to KC and ditched for rival Denver the next day. Real bitch move by both player and stealing organization. Verbal deals should be kept.

I mean, why criticize the Clippers for trying to keep their team intact? I don't blame them one bit.

On the other hand, he'll never do it. He doesn't want to be there, he wants to be in Dallas, and even if he's having second thoughts his agent will be pushing like crazy to make sure he sticks with his commitment.

Don't think Dallas has anything to be embarrassed about if this happens. The only two parties that can be embarrassed here are DJ and the Clips (unless you were referring to those two anyway).

Robin Lopez only joined the Knicks b/c Dallas got Jordan. So it has an affect on him b/c instead of going to a bottom feeder team, he could go to Dallas.

Likewise with the Lakers and Roy Hibbert, Lopez could go to the Lakers now instead of trading for Roy.

No, but really classless if DeAndre Jordan actually does go back to them.

I absolutely HATED it the last time, but...

....I'm really hoping they sign his contract in a night club & post some pics of it (including Cuban's dirties smirk possible) on CyberDust just like they did when they signed Parsons to an offersheet last summer. That would fit the Clippers 100% right for this move.

This. Never understood that myself. Even worse it used to be 2 weeks. All things free agency should be in full force once free agency opens

I'd say the Clippers have burned bridges with ever doing business with Dallas again. And if Jordan does the unexpected and goes back to the Clippers Dan Fegan will have burned bridges with an organization that has been extraordinarily good to his clients.

I have held my tongue despite tons of bitter Clipper fans trashing Jordan--I will laugh forever if he comes back and he's once again talked about as a good player.

I also held my tongue when those same bitter fans were ripping the Mavs. I hope I still can after this, but I might have to self-ban myself for protection.

   Sorry man but that whole self ban thing is hilarious. Plus if he decides to stay a Clipper after he said he was going to Dallas, you don't want someone like that.
