Why should the organization be punished because a free agent was too much of a coward to keep his word?

Its one of those unwritten rules things. I guess people can decide for themselves how unethical or whatever this is. Obviously almost all Clippers fans will think its fine. All Mavericks fans won't and I'd guess most neutral fans would side with the Mavs here.

Fegan has the most to lose here. And since the reports say the Clippers went around him to Jordan good luck to them ever signing one of his clients ever again.

If this was a new team going around an agent it's one thing, but if a player's own team spoke directly to the player I don't think there's anything wrong with it. They have an established relationship.

The relationship was so established that he had agreed with another team.

Isn't having Doc as the GM punishment enough?

Cuban did say he is tanking if they didn't get him any way. The only reason I can think of that they want to keep his is because all serviceable big men are now gone.

That's what Cuban says, but in reality he doesn't have the balls to tank. He's so used to making the playoffs that even in our one "rebuilding" year we still tried to compete for the 8th seed. We'll end up filling out the roster with veterans like Emeka Okafor and Andre Miller and not try to actually develop young talent, send our pick to Boston, and try to get meetings with Durant and Conley next offseason.

It must suck for you to have him back haha. I respect how you always kept your opinion regardless of the context of staying or leaving. As it should be.

Classless move from the Clippers and Jordan.

Exactly why this waiting period is nonsense.

Repercussions throughout the league.

I think the only indefensible one is DeAndre.

I don't blame the Clips really, you have the future of your team hanging in the balance, DeAndre leaving kills their relevancy and will lead to Blake and Paul leaving.

Even if he does sign with the Mavs after all, I'm sure I'm not the only fan who will be hard to win over after this. And good luck to both his agent and the Clippers when dealing with other teams/players.

I can't be pissed at this (yet), too much comedy lol. Have a small ounce of hope that Cuban and Parsons will work some magic out with Fegan, but this seems like a pretty done, messed up deal.

If Jordan is so emotionally tormented, he should be signing with the Mavs like the verbal agreement he had in place. The backlash among the league, other teams, etc etc etc, is much worse than the Clippers.
