Fair enough if you're counting Messi as a 10, I wouldn't since that front three was too fluid and versatile to label any of them as a classic 10, but if you do then sure Messi's the best.

But of the 10s other than Messi de Bruyne was the top of the class this past season; Mata/Ozil/Santi/Oscar/Gotze/Isco/Firmino/Raffael/Pastore/Hamsik/whoever-else-i'm-fortgetting, de Bruyne trumped them all.

James? Absolutely don't think KDB was better than him.

Yeah James is the one I was thinking about the longest and couldn't come to a definitive decision on. Both of them were extraordinary this season. I still lean towards KdB between them because of the supporting casts, but with how well hamez played even after Modric was hurt...I won't argue against vehemently with anyone putting James over KdB, but he's the only one that I struggled to pick KdB over, and I still lean KdB. He just carried such a massive burden all season long for them as the guy; and as the guy he lead them to a clear second place, the domestic cup, and FC VW's strongest european showings in a long while...though their CBs/GK/ST issues cost them in the end. James was great this year, but he wasn't given that much responsibility for as long, and he had a lot more talented players around him.

It still doesn't make sense to me that KdB made Bas **** Dost look like a prime Yilmaz for a month or two.

James didn't really get to play as a 10 though, played LM of a 3 man midfield most of the season, missed 2.5 months, and still had like 17 and 18. Would have easily had a 20 20 had he stayed healthy. That's playing much further back than usual and not being given freedom like KDB has. I'd say he had a better season but that's all debatable

Oh, so I wasn't mis-remembering that...well then James wasn't a 10 this season; so he couldn't have been a better 10 than kdb this year! :P

Shaqiri maybe to Schalke. I'm sure he'd be a star again there; Mancini never gave him a chance.

I can't believe he turned down Stoke

He could've played with Charlie Adam

Boas-Di Matteo-Benitez-Mourinho

De Bruyne arrived in summer 2012, Boas was there till march 2012. He was bought in the winter of 2011, while Boas was coach so I think he saw something in him though he never coached him because he was fired in march 2012.

Di Matteo was indeed there in the summer of 2012, but they immediately loaned him out to Werder so you don't really know if Di Matteo liked De Bruyne or not, he might have thought he needed some more playing time (which he had in Bremen).

Benitez took over the rest of the season cause Di Matteo got fired in november 2012. He never saw De Bruyne though (cause he was in Bremen).

Then came Mourinho. He started him against Man Utd (I think somewhere august) but then eventually KDB fell out of the team and was loaned out to Wolfsburg I think in the winterstop? So somewhere january 2014. Now that's actually one coach, and it's Mourinho, not really known for throwing in 'unknowns'.

So that's 1 instead of 4.

What do you mean by star again?
He was never a star to begin with. Just a highly talented benchwarmer Bayern mostly put in when opponents were getting tired. For Shaqiri to ever be a starter on a top team or even star he'd have to be committed to losing some weight, too.

I'll never understand how you can buy a player from a different country in winter and then put him on the selling list in summer already. It usually takes more than six months for players to get accustomed to a new culture, language, team and tactical approach. Just a classic fail from Inter. Podolski was exactly the same case (although I never understood why they made a move for him in the first place lol).

Schalke doesn't have the coins for Shaqiri right now without selling someone, though. Basically, all their money went to Mainz.

Farfan is supposed to go to some Oil-money league for 10M, and there's offers for Sam coming in.

The 10M are his salary, not the transfer fee he would return.

That league counts just as much as Süper Lig. Not at all.

It's both, no? 10 for Schalke and 10 for Jeff?

Real is going to get left with nothing at Keeper. Cant say I'm not enjoying this.
