One piece is still missing. Too bad that ED signed with Blazers already. I wish that Hornets landed ED using MLE. Imaging the lineup of Walker, Lin, MKG, Batum, and ED.

I get your point, and I think his popularity is awesome! (I wanted to jokingly propose: $$$Jersey Sales - The Jeremy Lin Thread). He's the sole representative in a sports league that is followed by gazillions of passionate fans across Asia. I was in China in '06 with my son who was quite tall for his age (10 at the time) and could not believe how many Chinese kids approached him just to ask if he played basketball. The women loved him too, several asking if they could run their hands through my blue-eyed son's blonde hair (guess they hadn't seen too many blond haired blue eyed boys at that point). But I digress. If Lin gets voted onto the All Star team because one third of the world wants to see him play (in a Hornets jersey!), then I say more power to him!

The really cool thing is that Lin seems like a really, really likeable kid - so he will be easy to root for.

It will be his fanboys that might make is tough at times.

Edit: Sidebar, but a similar story to the one about your son. I was in a Chinese restaurant a couple of months ago and after eating went up to pay. The dude nearly p*ssed his pants giggling with excitment when I walked up and asked "excuse me - are you someone?" I guess he hadn\t seen too many 6'7" dudes? It was pretty funny.

If Lin puts up all-star numbers by mid-season then we should talk about it then. So far he hasn't done jack, no need to speculate on something with very low probability.

Too funny. Check it out I dug these up . . . people asking to have their picture taken with Sam. This boy asked if Sam knew Michael Jordan

This guy got paid. 20 mil for three years, not bad.

Actually, Sam probably got the hair from you as well. Blonde hair is a recessive gene. That means he had to get it from both parents. Even though you didn't have the blonde phenotype, you carried the recessive blonde genetics and passed it onto Sam. He wouldn't be blonde if he only got it from his mother.

going a little off topic, but when my twin girls were around 6 months old we took them to Hong Kong and the Chinese locals were obsessed with them. they have red/blonde hair with blue eyes and when we were at disney land pushing them around in a pram we got swamped with chinese people who all wanted a photo with them. they all ended up lining up to get a pick and I swear they had a bigger line than Mickey mouse got for photo's. we should've charged $. it was truly nuts

Since it's the off-season, let me share my off-topic Jeremy Lin inspired story as well.

So today, I handed in my resignation letter with a Government department of Canada (gloomy environment) to deploy to a more stable department. My boss comes in pretending to be all cool about it but I can sense that he's really freaking out by his facial expression which he could not really hide.

First he acts as if it's no big deal and wishes me the best of luck but then he keeps popping over to my cubicle every 10 minutes to see what else they could do to make me stay, saying stuff like how about I talk to the uppers about giving you a promotion, do you want to try that? It would be a nice 10K raise but I kind of laughed and shrugged it off thinking to myself that there is no way.

So after he realizes that his pleas were futile he took a tantrum, making strange demands like how I should move from my cubicle immediately amongst other immature requests, It was weird to see a 40 year-old behave like a child. In hindsight, he never treated me that well either, he was my Byron Scott lol. With that, I thought to myself that I'm pulling a Jeremy Lin here, to settle for less money to be in an environment that would let me be more productive and also conducive to my long-term happiness :)

I think they want to take pictures with you because some Chinese never seen a white person before. China was pretty closed but now it is more open.

It reminds me about a Chinese friend who was in NYC and some white people wanted to take pictures with him. He asked them why and they said they are from Kentucky and they never seen a Chinese person before lol. That was back in the 80s. I am sure you can still find people like that in hickville USA somewhere.

Haha. Thought it would be a nice aside from all the projected stats we're spewing around.

Yeah, I notice that he's done that split the trap move numerous times dating back to college and during his time with the Knicks. It's a bit funny to see that a lot of player's bread and butter moves stem from their early days of ball since they've practiced them so many times with success. Sometimes these plays come off as lucky or improvised but they're really not.

Hopefully, but I'm a little worried with Al and his defender. Here, you saw that space was created by JHill screening, as well as Hill's ability to hit the long 2 as a credible threat to draw out defenders. But Al supposedly is terrible at screens, and is only good at post iso's, so defenders won't worry about his range as much. That would mean Al's defender would clog the lane in a way JHill's didn't. I hope they work it all out in training camp and pre-season.

I'd be surprised if Al doesn't shoot a higher percentage from midrange than Hill. Will look that up when I'm not feeling lazy.

Question for the non-Lin only fans on here: given the choice of signing either at the biannual exception, who would you prefer to have signed - Lin or Biz?

ETA: Assume you couldn't just sign the other with the full MLE, although it would be a fair point that we still have it available.

While I would prefer Lin there was no reason we could not have both right now.
