Gomez was the centerpiece of that deal, I believe.

Cole Hamels to Texas for Nick Williams, Jorge Alfaro, and either Jared Eickhoff or Chi Chi Gonzalez is nearly done.

Maybe one more player from Texas in there, too.

I don't understand why, they don't have a chance at the playoffs either.

He's under contract for 3 years after this.
then Yu will be back.

they'll be the best duo in the league if/when Greinke opts out and bolts.

They'll be the best duo in the league until Greinke comes to SF next year

I'd take Greinke/Tanaka over Yu/Hamels every damn day.

I'm also incredibly skeptical about the Rangers staff because everyone on it is made of wet cardboard.

great haul btw.

looks like Philly is going to eat some of the contract so the deal is going to be a relatively cheap 3 year deal for Texas.

They're taking Matt Harrison's deal, too. Go read up on that guy if you don't know his story.

And I'm pretty sure the LA/ATL/MIA deal is done, I think the only hiccup was who exactly the Marlins were getting.

yea…good deal for LA if we don't make another move after picking up Wood and Latos.
great deal if it's a set up to take a run at Price.

Ugh, don't like Papelbon, don't like having to root for him. But if he helps us win, I guess I can stomach it....
