I agree but I think that is where we are with the lack of production from Holiday and Jones. Think they don't wanna use a roster spot on a return guy unless he is excellent and we don't have that so we have to get use to a main roster guy as a returner. Carrie is the only one with with experience.

I know, Im just always bitter for a few years after a good player leaves the squad. Same way with Houston and Meyers a few years ago.

Finally got Reece on a wheel route!

Rivera is free in the middle of the field every time he releases.

Like our defensive awareness. Seemed like at times last year we were a few seconds late on reacting to the short passing game. This year we're right on it. Allen, Smith, Carrie all look like good fits for this system.

Some things I noticed in the 1st half:

- Mayowa looking good against the run
- Rivera having a really good night, running crisp routes
- Thompkins shouldn't make team, but Carr looked for him on 3 3rd downs (0 for 3)
- Denico Autry looking excellent - 1 big time stop, and setting the edge for run D well
- Malcolm Smith is going to be a fine starter, good in coverage (on Ellington). Did get frozen by a Palmer pump 3 yards past LOS tho, dunno how you let him get 9 on 3rd and 9
- Hayden looking really good except for that sketchy block in the back penalty
- NATE. ALLEN. Think he's clinched the starting FS job tonight
- Richardson has to go. There's nothing there
- Ray Ray had an excellent run stuff, but also overpursued early. Overall solid
- Still hate Carrie returning punts
- JJ Nelson from ARI, fair catch on the 12. Football IQ +.
- Carr stared Cooper down a couple times, has to stop that
- Mack is absolutely destroying Veldheer. Spin move, swim move, bull rush. He also obliterated their RT. What a stud
- MEJ got a sack tonight, with help from McGee and Mack
- Reece sells the draw terribly. D knows exactly whats coming
- OL is not looking good on the run block. Menelik was doing best with that, and unfortunately sounds like a severe injury.

Overall, fantastic half of football for us. You want more than FGs, but the D has been really solid. Run game needs to get going.

I feel like Mack is like a premier halfback in the sense that he needs to get a little success early and then just keep feeding him (not the ball but single blocking situations) and he gets better and better. Owned Veldheer and Sowell!

I paid close attention to our safeties in the first half. Allen stayed on the right and CWOOD on the left no matter which side was strong. They just read the formation but 9-16 plays Allen was playing in the box and he is undoubtedly better in run coverage. Both played well at FS. Allen 2 got opportunities with over throws and got them both. Will be interesting to see how Asante, Dowling, Ross and Mays play at SS in case Woodson or Allen can't hold up injury wise all year filling gaps in the box. Today we need to figure out who we keep.

With Holmes and Streater being huge injury risks going into the opener, I think we need to keep Butler Roberts and Thompkins. I really feel like Butler can do well in this offense and maybe even be a breakout player after Cooper starts drawing attention.

Think youre right FNQ, Richardson has shown nothing. As im typing this he just ran for 22 haha. Then got a nice swing pass one handed. Hope Reggie is looking at the waiver wire. If we keep Murray Helu Jones Reece, put Dyer on the PS and hopefully find someone of better quality.
