What serious poster actually thought he was better than Lowry? He was always going to be the backup, with the HOPE that he could get better with more time and experience.

It was said a few times in the original thread when we signed him. More people said he was going to be our 6th man. Someone even called him a future all star. I don't think too many people have actually watched him.

He'll be used to give Lowry a rest but we shouldn't expect anything more.

I think he'll be used in high leverage situations when we need stops. He's a above average on ball defender.

Can anyone tell me why TSN is showing a top Dunkers of all time special instead of the game? Was it postponed?

Also, really want to see Cory Joseph do well as the Raptor fan inside of me is still wondering if he is even a second string caliber PG in the NBA. I get that he played for the Spurs and had a good run playing when Parker was out but still that isn't much to go off of.

He had a very pretty reverse layup last game but apart from that I'm getting a bit of that feeling at times. Even his defensive stance, he seems like his legs are up too straight while his back is hunched over a lot.
Still need to watch more tho.

I've never been very high on Cory Joseph. He's a good defender but very limited offensively. This board massively overrated him thinking he was going to take over Lowry's spot.

I watch a lot of Spurs games, they're my favourite team outside of the Raps.

CoJo is an excellent system guy. He reminds me of Jose Calderon with more athleticism and defensive acumen. He'll take the smart shot and make the right play with great efficiency the vast majority of the time.

Overall, how 'good he looks' will largely be a function of the schemes his coach is running and his role.

He's been Canada's best player in several international games in the past. I expect he'll have better games as the FIBAs continue.

I'm guessing the other game ran long. I'm searching for answers on Twitter but see nothing. Hey TSN, can I get a scroll at the bottom of the screen?

Have you ever watched him play FIBA prior to these past 5 games? That comment leads me to believe you haven't. He was our best player in the 2013 FIBA Americas.

I don't really read the other threads here, but the posts on this thread sure make Raptors fans look to be haunted by self loathing and a serious inferiority complex. So much self-hate for both the Raptors and Team Canada. Maybe it's just the angry goons that burst out after a set-back. Anyone know if a good Team Canada thread hosted somewhere else?

I guess you are right. I guess I have bad memory, because I remember that tournament, but I remembered it wrong. I thought CoJo was very inefficient that year, I think I mixed him up with Huertas. Huertas was the guy who had a lot of hype but ended up as a scrub. Now I remember.

Wiggins active on the offensive glass
Basketball is like poetry in motion, cross the guy to the left, take him back to the right, he's fallin back, then just J right in his face. Then you look at him and say, "What?" - Jesus Shuttlesworth

The format

A total of 10 nations will compete in two groups in a round-robin format, with each team playing its group opponents once.

Group A: Brazil, Mexico, Panama, Dominican Republic, Uruguay

Group B: Canada, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Argentina Venezuela

After each team has played its four round-robin games, the top four teams in each group move on and play the top four from the other group in the second round. The win-loss records from the opening round will carry over, excluding the games against the teams that failed to advance.

The top four nations will then advance to the semifinals.

How to get to Rio

The two finalists at the FIBA Americas tournament will secure berths for the Rio Olympics. However, Brazil already has an automatic spot as the host nation, so if it places first or second the bronze medallist at this event will also qualify for Rio.

The qualification doesn't end in Mexico City, as the next three countries in the standings will get other chances to qualify for the Olympics in one of the three FIBA Olympic qualification competitions next July.

Wiggy coming on strong early. Will he have gas left in the tank by the 3rd?

He probably won't be playing much in the second half.

That was pretty ugly by Olynyk. Glad Wiggins could clean it up.
"I definitely knew he traveled, but I didn't know they were going to call it. That was one of them situations in which a great player made a move...and they called the call. And I was like, 'Oh, man, there is a God.'

How was Stauskas? Reading up a lot on how the bigs played, was wondering if Stauskas was effective.
