Every change he made for that game weakened our strengths while failing to take away those of the italians. Just an absolute disaster. At least in 2010 he was unlucky that Ozil didn't go down right before the half to get the pen that most attackers would settle for; had we taken a 1-0 into half time our counters would've likely found a 2nd when the spanish opened up in search of an equalizer.
But coaching will keep this golden generation from surpassing the achievements of the 70s teams, and with all of this talent that is sad...even if not a new phenomenon. The DFB chasing players out is why we lost the final in 76 to stop us from becoming the first nation to win a threepeat in the the Euros and WC over 30 years before the spaniards won theirs. So we have a history of **** up our golden ages and ending them prematurely.
yall got outplayed in '12. Our coach was freakin Prandelli
No doubt. It was a complete failure. But Jogi set our boys up to fail even if they had brought their A-game because he sacrificed our strengths to fail to take away yours.

Max Kruse and Christoph Kramer left while Alvaro Dominguez injured his back, Stranzl got a year older, and Raffael went into one of his invisible phases. With a lot of new faces brought in that team has lost their cohesion/chemistry/confidence and spine. Kruse's playmaking and movement from the 9 was pivotal in Raffael and Herrmann's strong seasons; Kramer was a perfect partner for Xhaka; and their D had been one of the best in the league with Dominguez and Stranzl fully fit.
They need to find their form as a collective, but with the injuries in defense and Stindl-Xhaka failing to click that's looking like a taller and taller task. I will be very curious to see if and when they can get into gear; even if Eberls & Favre did spend all summer warning people this would be a transitional year that'll pay off more over the next 3 years. My expectation would be something similar to the season after they finished 4th and lost Reus, Dante & Neustadter; rough first half, followed by a sizeable improvement after the winter to crawl back into the top half of the table and find their form for next season.

Brunson: So what are you paid to do?
Hart: Run around like an idiot during the game and f*** s*** up!
