Martin would be great, not sure what the Wolfs actually want though. if i'm them i'd only trade him for future picks.

Magic are willing to deal Channing Frye. Kind of stretch big Clifford dreams about.

the "try and patch the defense" trade

Marvin and 2nd round pick (or cash or both) for PJ Tucker.

Suns get more shooting and a shorter contract.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

the "we suck, lets blow it up" trade

Batum, Rob, Harrison and 2017 top20 protected 1st (if not converted, turns into 2 2nd's) for Dion Waiters, Cam Payne, Steven Adams and Novak.

may or may not be terrible but if Batum can put them over the top i think they would at least consider.

Dion Waiters is almost on par with Stephenson. Pass on that.

There was a time I wanted Mayo pretty bad. Not convinced he's all that any more, but he would definitely be an upgrade over the trade package, which probably negates it getting done. His experience would allow Cliff to bring Lamb off the bench. I am more interested in seeing what Lamb can do, but I would certainly pull that trigger. Contract is an $8M expiring.

Charlotte gets: Harrison Barnes + Brandon Rush + Chris Babb
Golden State gets: Marvin Williams + 1st rd pick (lottery protected in 2016) + 2nd rd pick (CHA) + 2nd rd pick (CLE)

Kemba/Lin/Roberts
Batum/Lamb/Daniels
Barnes/PJ/Rush
Cody/Frank/Psycho
Al/Hawes

Next season core if we resign Batum and Barnes:

Kemba
Batum/Lamb
MKG/PJ
Barnes/Cody
Frank/Hawes

If we somehow managed to add Al Horford to that core we might be legit.

Windhorst said that he had dropped by Milwaukee's training camp and OJ Mayo is in great shape. Dude knows it's his contract year and he is basically forgotten around the league.

Regarding all these Marvin Williams trades you guys are throwing out - imagine yourself being on the other side of the transaction. Imagine Marvin Williams being the player you bring home in a trade. Do you still feel like you would do it?

For the most part, the prize is the other piece involved. Marvin is the salary filler to make it work.

2nd rounders are the prize to give up PJ Tucker or OJ Mayo?

I get what youre saying and completely agree. Just throwing out ideas. Golden State might become motivated to move Barnes because they don't want to overpay him. He really hasn't done much to justify anywhere near the contract he wants and a 1st rd pick isn't bad value for the production they are losing. Marvin also kind of fits into the role they have Barnes playing, with the main difference not being production but rather that Marv significantly less athletic and has no upside. He probably wouldn't really be a major downgrade or really have much effect on their chances of repeating. I feel like Marv can get them 8 and 5 and hit some 3's. I'm not actually a Barnes fan at all, but he is young, long, athletic, and a hometown guy with some upside so it kind of makes some sense for us to make a play for him.

oh yeah, I do acknowledge the 1st round pick you gave up in your scenario. that would be more fair than the other proposals, imo.

Marv for Kevin Martin and Dieng.

Gets them out of Martins contract (who's been relegated to the Minni bench) a year early at the cost of Dieng.

They already have Towns and Pekovic and Payne holding down the big man spots.

Kemba - Martin - Batum - Cody or Frank - Al

Id do it. I might try to swindle Shabaz out of them instead of Dieng. Thats probably too greedy though. Maybe Marv + Daniels + some kind of pick for Martin and Shabaz?

We'd probably have to give up our 1st with little protection- like top 7 or something. I'd still do it, honestly. Shabazz is going to be a great player, and Martin's a good scorer if we decide to just go all-in on the offensive end and punt the defensive end this year.
