You want to know something funny? I thought the exact opposite.

Drummond is the best player between either team.

I make the distinction between what a player could be and what a player actually is right now.

I wouldn't trade Drummond for Horford. But if I want to win a game tomorrow? Gimme Horford. Easy.

This year, this team, these expectations. Not This year, this team, last year's expectations.

This years team will better then this years Atlanta Hawks. It will take time for that to become reality.

For the record, the only position I would take a Hawks player is PF. Horford specifically.

There's no reason the Hawks shouldn't win this one. They have years of chemistry, more experience, home game opener etc... I'm predicting a big loss here. They are just to established especially chemistry wise while we are still trying to figure out our best rotations. Gonna be a tough 1st game that's for sure. Drummond better stay out of foul trouble cause we are definitely gonna need him out there.

Drummond is the best stat filler, absolutely but not the best player. Atlanta has four All-Stars, come on.

In the end they're playing basketball. I say whoever wins this game is whoever scores the highest.

Turnovers are key to this game

Tough game to start with. How amazing would it be to win this in Atlanta though. 1st game media overreactions everywhere!
Not going to be too concerned with a loss here though, as long as the team shows some sort of promise.

I like to use the picking teams solution. 10 GM's line up and pick a team. I guarantee each and every one selects Drummond first.

In any event Atlanta had four all stars. They haven't been selected for the all-star team this season yet. This is a new year and I stand behind my statement.

I also picked this as a loss as well and clearly stated that it will take time for this Pistons team to be better. Hawks have chemistry and vets. Tough for a really young and freshly minted team to handle on opening night.

People are high on Drummond because of his upside but if he doesn't fit the mood swings and start making progression offensively, that hype will begin to die down soon. Ask those same 10 GMs who they'd rather have to lead their team to a win right now and I also guarantee every one selects Horford or Teague.

They haven't been All-Stars this season yet...haha. Guess LeBron isn't an All-Star this either! He has a lot to prove....give me Drummond over him!

Let's see how we defend the 3. That should be a big difference this year.

I like the optimism around here, but Atlanta was the best east team during the regular season.
Let's not get ahead of ourselves. If we put up a fight and bounce back tomorrow, I'll be happy.

Whoever's guarding Korver needs to stick to him like super glue. Jackson needs to smother Teague with all the love he can. Keep the perimeter players as cold and uncomfortable as they can.
