He looked like the real deal man, and the best about him he is a humble and intelligent kid, just as wiggins. That pass behind the back after a loose ball, how many 7 foot 19 YO rookies are so skilled mentally and athletically?

And he is learning fast. The aggresive defensive aproach he had in kentucky is paying dividends. He must adapat to not foul, and this year that could be a problem, but is much better than just be passive. He will be an anchor moving forward, and with his skillset, highly compatible with a big array of PF/C.

If he and wiggins can feel good about each other success then this team will be unstoppable. Have 2 tier 1 talents with good egos is not frequent around the league. And you can see some chimestry already.

I find this to be the reason they can co-exist long-term. for most players, it's not about location anymore as opposed to a team having good players. These 2 genuinely like each other, so they really don't need to go anywhere to find someone to play with. If anything, people might want to come to them

Haven't seen a game yet, but the highlights make me second guess any reservations I had about him.

People forget that Duncan had to reinvent himself after some really bad injuries early in his career.

Duncan used to be known for his athletic ability, not his fundamentals. (He always had the fundamentals, just that his athletic ability was amazing).

For the people who had reservations about Towns and are suddenly now on board after one really good game, understand that he's always shown the flashes since high school. Plenty of players have shown flashes since high school, even up to the NBA level, but the most important thing you have to understand about Towns, and what sets him apart, is his very high BBIQ, desire, upbringing, and support system.

He was raised the right way (http://heavy.com/sports/2015/06/karl-anthony-towns-parents-father-mother-family-mom-dad-jacqueline-cruz-karl-towns-sr-coach-towns-bio-hometown-dominican-republic-national-team-coach-cal-interview-photos-new-jersey-hometown/) and his father is a HS coach and knows what makes Towns tick. Towns Sr. even told Calipari to push Towns harder, get in his ear, even when he does well. I'm sure the same is being told to Sam Mitchell. Calipari's effect on Towns is underrated. Calipari might not be the greatest X-Os coach but he is a great player/personal development coach. This coupled with Towns' desire to improve, having great parents, and his father being a coach is a recipe for success. Towns' improved post game is a credit to Calipari and his staff.

The way I see it, any player who was the "tools", desire, high BBIQ, and good support system will always be successful...and Towns definitely has all of that plus more. He will have his ups and downs. It's still very early. The great part is that he is only going to improve.
*Edited to say that I see Kristaps Porzingis in the same light and I think he'll be successful as well because of this. Who will be better will be tough to say, as they will be slightly different types of players. I like both but i'm personally rooting for Towns a bit more.

He definitely has some Shaq personality in him. Shaq is an all-time comedic/charismatic personality. I don't think he'll be as funny as Shaq but he's definitely more interviewable in the sense that he can talk more coherently about any topic.

More spry than I remember, but still not as fluid as what I've seen from Towns.

I'm all in on Towns. I would not be surprised if he ends up the best player on our team. I think his skillset is probably the best on the team outside of maybe Rubio. You can just tell he's the type that just gets involved in the game in every way that he can.

I honestly think he is going to be better than Wiggins, but Wiggins is going to be something else too..Rubio-Wiggins-Towns will be a great defensive trio and I can't wait to watch them grow. Rubio is still just a freshly turned 25.

Yeah, maybe I just lack the nerve to say it but I think you're right. Towns seems to have a higher basketball IQ and he's a more skilled player. He's not the athletic freak that Wiggins is but he's athletic enough.

I'm real high on Wiggins too, but I also think KAT is going to be the franchise guy.

He's just so versatile and balanced already at such a young age, and as mentioned above his BBIQ is pretty impressive. It's great to be in a position where we actually have two guys who could arguably be that caliber of player though.

Wiggins has more potential with his physical gifts, but its harder to tell if he'll get there with how low key he is as a person.

Personally I think many people isn't fair when they judge the Wiggo personality. Maybe he isn't as exuberant like KAT or Ricky, but I think he has a silent killer inside him, a perfect son of bitch. Really I like how to compliment the different personalities of the team core.

About who will get the franchise player contract we still have two years for decide it, then keep calm and enjoy with the game. I think many teams would like have this kind of doubts.

I'm not worried about Wiggins.

He looked like he was trying to kill people with dunks at the end of last season. Just because he doesn't always emote, doesn't mean he doesn't have it in him.

Yeah. He was trying to destroy people at the rim towards the end of the year. I was one of the guys who took his silence for weakness, but he really is a gamer and can be a killer on the court. I can't knock him based on his personality anymore
