Goes both ways. If he was playing poorly, everyone would be criticizing his lack of performance against low-level talent. He's going to play better talent soon enough. What's the big deal?

I think it's the latest trend to bring up LSUs schedule. Last it was Ben's lack of athleticism, then lack of length, then he's too upright. Seen a few posters do it and now the domino effect is in sequence.

Also, I guess after Ingram's last performance, needed to bring Ben back to the pack somehow :D

I guess so.. Ingram and Skal struggled in their last games while Ben just put up 23/16/3 ..

And the really scary thing? You can see Ben has another gear. Its the same gear every great has. You always knew MJ could drop 55 any game.. you always knew Prime Dirk could go 40 on you.. prime Shaq 40/20 ... Lebron 35/12/12 etc

I watch Ben and i get the feeling he could easily score 35 any night. He doesent need and want to and especially in College Team Ball is King. But you get the feeling

Hype them up when they are years away then tear them down as the draft gets closer

How many people said AD would never avg 20ppg on here

He can only play what's in front of him and he's been near faultless... He's the real deal and it'll just be fact soon enough

I've never hyped up Ben Simmons

Posting stats when LSU has arguably the worst high major schedule according to KenPom is absurd. If you like his game then you like it.

He hasn't played anyone yet, but the guy is straight dominating and the eyeball test says he's the real deal which was reported by experts anyway. His measurables are extremely impressive, and he has incredible handles and vision. He was easily blowing past guards last night. I read that he measured at 6'10"/240lbs/7'0.25"wingspan/9'.50standing reach with a 37 inch standing very and 41.5 inch max vert. Has the fastest 3/4 court sprint of any player ever recorded in draft express history.

He's making me question my biggest knock on him which was regarding his scoring prowess.

Last night though he showed he has that second gear, looked like he could drop 40 if he wanted to and just chose not to.

If he truly is purposely controlling his scoring aggressiveness right now that's a scary sight. It doesn't look like he's being passive either, or just being lazy, he's actively controlling the game and choosing to get other guys involved.

This kid is special....

Man, I was looking at LSU's combine numbers, and like 3 guys broke official combine records, and they had so many guys between 40-45 inch verticals it was hilarious.

I would bet anything these guys don't work out at the draft camp, and choose to sit on these numbers instead

Just saw his highlights vs S. Alabama on SQUADawkins channel. First time I've seen him play. Only afterwards did I find out he's...6 '10?!?!? wtf? Watching the highlights, the way he moves, handles the ball, it wasn't obvious that he was that tall. A kid that size with that kind of ball handling? That's just sick.

Ya LSU has yet to play a legit opponent yet. So everything you're seeing Simmons doing you gotta take with a grain of salt. He does move extremely well for a guy his size. But let's see what he can do when he goes against legit competition

Or maybe Blakeney is a good player himself? :)

Who knows, but I do agree that Simmons hasn't played great competition yet, he looks like the biggest guy on the court against the teams he's played so far.

No denying he's talented tho and he has destroyed weak teams as any great player would. The only thing I haven't seen from him is a jump shot. Gotta get that jumper working when he plays tougher comp

What's the problem? Running out those lineups will only secure another #1 pick in 2017

Really though, I hope Simmons doesn't end up in Philly. Seeing him in Boston would be awesome. He's not a guy who's gonna set the league on fire right away, his skills needs to be developed in the right system (and Brad Stevens would definitely do that)

Blakeney was rated pretty highly coming into college, so I gotta agree with you there.

Also agree that their numbers have only been put up against bad teams. But it's not like LSU is the only team playing against bad teams. Duke has played one top 25 rated opponent. As has Kentucky. Apparently Kentucky is better than every team they play. The one time both teams played a rated opponent, their freshman struggled. Ben will probably struggle too. Although I doubt he lays an egg.

I don't think Philly is a good fit either nor the Lakers. I'd love to see him in Boston
