Unless Cousins becomes available anytime soon, which I don't see, its going to have to be through the draft. Of course this stuff is all unpredictable so who knows.

Brooklyn needs to fall into the top 4 of the lottery and we need to hope Jaylen Brown is the next Jimmy Butler ... Simmons is the 6'10 Westbrook .. or Skal is the next Bosh.

Anyone else falling in love with Jamal Murray? Dude shut down Grayson Allen who has been murdering it right now. Him and Ulis were clearly the two best players on the court that day...and those are two stacked rosters.

Having said that, people need to take a long look at Grayson Allen. He's got a great size for a SG, he handles the ball well, he's got a smooth jumper and he's got hops. I think he's been underrated so far.

At some point we need some better shooters in our lineup but I'm presently drooling over adding Simmons to this core we have. Either at the 3 or 4. I think he could put on another 15 lbs in time.

I don't think he's generational, like LeBron but damn I want him.

Ehh, he seems like one of those guys you can talk yourself into pre-draft and then he ends up being just another guy in the NBA.

I wouldnt give to much credit to Murray for shutting Grayson down. Briscoe was on him the majority of the time and Grayson was still able to get into the paint a good amount just struggled against the size big time. Murray is weird to me because I cant tell if he can be a star or just a solid player. Hes a great shooter with really good vision, but hes not a good defender and not an elite athlete.

Grayson is not ready for the NBA. He has not yet shown he can score against legit size or shot blockers. He also becomes a little to predictable with his drives as well. Also he handles the ball well but definitely that is still a work in progress. I think he can become a solid 6th man one day maybe

Some insane plays there..

Given up counting on anything from the draft.. Brooklyn pick could be anywhere from 1 to 7.

The safe strategy is, at least, safe.. Even if we end up trading picks 5, 23, and 27 for Derrick Favors, we'll be a better team.

Right now I think the only two teams clearly worse than Brooklyn (with Lopez) are the 76ers and Lakers (who are blatantly tanking).
After that it's up in the air. The Pelicans suck, but once they get Holiday, Gordon, Tyreke, Asik and Davis all playing regular minutes they should fall back to pick #8 or #9.

This pick is, to me, basically a lock to be in the top 5. If we are really unlucky on lottery night then #6 might happen.

The Nets are simply awful.

My guys in that #3 to #6 range are

Brown
Ingram
Bender
Murray

at this point.

If there's someone we really like perhaps the 76ers or LA will give us pick #2 for #4+ Dallas pick #10 etc...

Top 4 and we are golden. One of Simmons, Skal,Brown or Ingram will be an enormous acquisition for this franchise.
One day Marcus Smart will be defensive player of the year, mark my words.

Besides Simmons, Bender, and Briscoe, I feel like every player I watch is slated to go about 10-15 slots too high. Not feeling this draft at this point.

Have hardly seen any yet and that's the vibe I'm getting. My guess is it may turn into an upperclassman/intl kind of draft.

Ingram coming off the bench for Duke now. He's been fairly disappointing so far, huh?

IMO, LA is better than BRK. They did beat BRK on the road. They still have Russell, Randle, Kobe, and Clarkson. They just have more talent on their roster.

This draft will turn into the Simmons draft if it hasn't already. He'll be the consensus #1 pick and it won't even be a toss up.

Then the next tier will be Jaylen Brown, Skal, Bender, Ingram, Rabb, and Zimmerman. I think Zimmerman will shoot up boards once he starts working out. Can't teach his size and athletic make-up. I also think Dunn will be this years smaller school poster child ala Elfrid Payton, Damien Lilliard, McCollum, etc

He's been the worst player on Duke so far this year. I think he's coming back to Duke for another year. He's just not ready physically yet. He can't do anything against college players. He wouldn't play a minute in the NBA next year. He would go straight to the D league. He's just not close to being ready

I agree they have more talent and should get more wins, even in the West. But they are tanking. Like legitimately trying to lose games and it's coming from the front office. They want Simmons+Russell together in all likelihood.

+1. Hate to say it, but unless we get a chance to draft Simmons or Bender, the value of the pick does not look particularly high right now.
The international crop is not exactly deep, after Bender there are Korkmaz (young, good shooter with size, but with average body frame and ball handling, kinda like Jeremy Lamb type of prospect), Luwawu (turning heads right now, athletic with skill, could end up top 8, reminds me of Bradley Beal lite) and after them I see mostly early 2nd round guys who would be overdrafted in the 1st. An interesting and real NBA talent is Ivica Zubac (very similar to Poetl) but he's currently injured until early-mid December and both Draftexpress and NBADraft.net have him in 2017.

all we need is that Top pick! Simmons all the way. Franchise changing type of player. outside of Simmons, I agree....underwhelming. Although I like Brown & Rabb from Cal.
