Come on Lin fans. I wanna debate.

Kemba has arguably looked like a top-5 point guard so far this season and unquestionably top-10 if you asked me

That's the big difference from yesteryear when it was Henderson and MKG. I can't wait for MKG to return but by the time he return I wonder if there will be a identity crisis phase where he's weeded out as the odd-man out if his lack of floor spacing on his shot hasn't improved enough not to make him a detriment
This is all spot on. I would add that Walkers wings (MKG and Hendo) shrunk his space to maneuver down to the smallest in the Association. Not only did their lack of range diminish the quality of his looks but they never set him up like Batum can or Lin or even Lamb. Neither can shoot and neither is a playmaker. Add on the fact that nobody could create their own shot other than Kemba and he was forced into the Lions share of shots late in the clock on broken possessions. we probably led the league in broken possessions. then everyone dogpiled on Kemba as if anyone could salvage a decent rythmn playing wih Chos pu pu platter.
i have always hated Hendo and MKG. the only reason why i look forward to mkg return is for defense and rebounding and energy.
hes going to hurt the offense. foolish to think otherwise imo
It's hurting their hearts that we not only have a top half offense but a top 10 offense with Kemba starting, running the show, and being the leading scorer. Do you know how often I read that we'll never have a decent offense as long as Kemba is the starting PG and leading scorer over the years? Lol
We still have some ways to go tho as far as talent. We need a legit scorer that can make Kemba 2nd to 3rd fiddle and then we'll be talking championship possibilities. For now I'm just happy we're looking like a good scoring team instead of a team I barely knew where the points were gonna come from unless one of Kemba or Al had close to a career night on that night. The floor is spread because Batum, Lamb, and Lin can shoot. Props to Messy Marv too for playing like he deserve 3/4 of his contract too.
Messy is earning 4/4, c'mon. I do still hate when he clanks a wide open 3 and still believe his 3's are more wide open than any player's in the league and he still passes up a good portion of them or looks invisible on offense some nights. Still, $7 million is a deal. Hendo was getting 6. Some fans here wanted to give him 10-12 back in the day.

I'm glad Kemba is playing well, it's a good thing for all Hornets fans. Let's please keep to talking about Kemba and stop talking about other posters on the site.

Definitely, and any future bashing will get called out. People got too comfortable bashing our best player, so I anticipate future bashing. Just sayin'.

Batum is getting tired though and has regressed alot lately. He's really getting burned out but we need him badly.

That's fine, like we've said any and all opinions should be welcome. Let's just keep the discussion focused on the player and team that we have now and not on old arguments that are no longer being made.

I agree but you have to understand Yankees like to see people eat crow. It's one of our favorite pastimes. Again, I agree, no need to rehash old arguments. We thumped our chests, said our peace. Everyone can rest easy now.

Re: Winter Is Coming - The Kemba Walker Thread III
I think one could argue that Kemba's improved play is attributable to BOTH putting in the off-season work AND having a better supporting cast.
(As an aside, one of the foundations of social psychology theory is the fundamental attribution error (FAE), in which people tend to overattribute a behavior to something inherent in the individual and underweigh the impact of the situation or environment. A lot of Malcolm Gladwell's books just rehash this pillar in psychological theory. In the Kemba case, the FAE would point to attributing his better play this year to his own hard work.)
Based on his career numbers, including college, I think we'll probably see some regression to the mean, with his FG% settling in around 43% and his 3PT% around 35% -- which would make him a solid G. On a separate note, his assist numbers are still the same, but with another playmaker like Batum on the squad, maybe it's not so important.

They say their piece then act like we gonna forget. Nah, that's the purpose of these debates, to prove who's opinion is right and in a lot of these Kemba debates we could only say watch the difference having Batum and Lamb will make. Time has past and I'm allowed to rehash these debates to hear them say what they were saying before if they still think it. Kemba has been more efficient with better 3pt shooting wings.

Ben is suggesting that they know they're wrong and are not looking to pick a fight. It's a nice way of saying they are defeated, so no reason to pour salt in their wounds. I get it though, the debate is over. They will wait until he has a cold streak and act like none of this good stuff ever happened.

I just want to continue my debate with Apples. There wasn't a big enough sample to completely slam all that nonsense he was talking 7 games ago even though everything pointed towards Kemba playing better. Now I got a bigger sample like the last 6 games. Lol

I would expect you to think this way. Anyone but Kemba is your motto, but you're entitled to that opinion. I've seen you flip flop from Jefferson, MKG, to Zeller being our best player in your mind. Nicolas Batum has played well but he's essentially a cog that is complimentary to Kemba being the alpha of this team's success, especially over the last several games in which team as a whole has played it's best towards winning results

Lol. Sensitive as usual, even when people give Walker props. Hilarious

That is literally the opposite of the purpose of these debates. The purpose is to analyze the team, not to keep a tally of arguments and check the box when you are right or wrong. No one wants to read the airing of personal vendettas against those you have argued with in the past.
We are hear to discuss the Hornets, not flaunt or mock other posters. That is how it should have been in the past, and that is going to be the approach going forward.

Ben, LP, and Slam among others gonna get this work lol. I'm not letting up that easily. As long as I'm not insulting them and just saying my piece then I can freely post. I just hope Kemba don't let me down and revert back to his old ways but I doubt it unless Batum or Lamb get injured and have to miss time where we'll have to play PJ bum ass more than we already overdo.

Lol going to get what "work"? Walker has a good start to the year after years of bad shooting and you're going to give people "work"?
Lol. I guess. Do what you gotta do.
