His shot chart shows all in the paint unless I'm missing something?

Did you watch this game against North Florida? I know I wouldn't watch a non tournament team vs a low major.

Goes to show you shouldn't just trust what others say! That 3/6 reference came from what somebody confidently said on the General Board.

I've looked at his shot chart and agree with you. My bad!

Funnily enough, North Florida made the tournament last year but go ahead guys. He could have scored 50 and I'm sure you'd have something negative to say ;)

I don't think anyone considers the First Four to really be part of March Madness.

For reference:

So yeah Ben was the tallest guy on the court. And definitely played how he was supposed to do against an undersized opponent, you have to like the aggression in the paint.

Still nothing in terms of the jumpshot, maybe's he's waiting to surprise us

43 points by a Freshman against a D-1 opponent is impressive regardless of who they played.

The kid has major flaws but all this focus on those flaws is just asinine right now.

I said it, they were in close but 6 of those were classified as jumpshots.

This was my takeaway from the game. Simmons was done with losing, looks like he made a decision that it was going in the basket or he was getting to the line every time he touched the ball in the 2nd half. Nice to see that fire.

This

The whole "strenght of schedule" thing is overblown by people who try to bring Ben down.
Other Freshman have faced weak Teams before Ben.. shocking right? He is not the only one.

43/14/7/3/5 is one of the craziest college statlines in recent memory.Period.

He went out after the last few games where people questioned his scoring and proved tonight he can dominate the scoring departement. I love his ability to take critisim and respond to it on the court. That is a trait of the Greatest Players to ever Play.

43 from 15/20, 14 rebounds, 7 assists, 5 steals, and 3 blocks should be expected all the time? Hell, it makes me excited. Damn you'd be a hard coach to please. What was the last #1 pick that could produce games like that, and it would be no big deal?

Was going to say the same thing more or less. There have been plenty of consensus number 1 picks , not to mention freshman who never put up numbers like that before.

While Ben has his flaws, jump shooting being one of them, I personally don't see it as something that can't be fixed. I'm sure he works tirelessly on it but being the kind of player Ben is, unselfish, team orientated, why would he go out and work on it in-game? So he can please all the know it alls on realgm? He plays in a jump shooting team, he's surrounded by guys who's strengths are their jump shooting. So why hoist up jump shots when that isn't your role. He's a consummate team player who isn't going to selfishly toss up shots so he can boost his stock.

And on pure Potential Beasley was seen as clear Hof Level Prospect. He has crazy talent but his head was never straight. Ben's Head seems to be just in the right place.. beeing a Teamplayer but also a leader and a tireless worker.

Beasley was really flawed as well and not only because of his head and off the floor issues.

College production is not 1:1 with NBA success thus the reason people are discussing Ben's flaws.

No one is saying what he is doing isn't impressive or that he won't be good in the NBA but HOW good in the NBA. Some seem to think he is a generational prospect and toss names like Lebron and Grant Hill freely thus the "nitpicking."

As he should be. Did you watch Grant Hill in college? I did. Simmons seems far more impressive at this stage.
