Once he starts rebounding on both ends the game will be easier for him.

That's the thing with Mitchell, once he decides he likes a player, he adores them for life. Bosh developed well for us, but Mitchell never pushed him hard to improve on his weaknesses. Bosh progressed as a player by developing his strengths rather than shoring up his weaknesses. I'm actually in the camp that believes coaches don't have that grand of an effect on player development, but the thing with Mitchell is that he kept on validating Bosh as a player, that I think Bosh lost perspective on what he needed to improve on.

People seem to be piling on him lately, so something a little positive.

Re: The Andrew Wiggins Thread
People are getting a little carried away for me.
Is he flawed? Sure. But he's a kid and he's got a long way to go before he's anywhere near his peak ability.
Coming into the league I thought he was very raw and would take a number of seasons to even be producing at the level he is now. Give him time, he'll get there.

Re: The Andrew Wiggins Thread
Hope Andrew does something to promote himself for the all-star game. If not this year for future years in growing is popularity. As a Canadian I have been a supporter from day 1, but I will be dissapointed if he doesn't do something more than just posting a picture. Towns is apperiantly getting set to launch a couple different campaigns. I incourage everyone on this board to #NBAVote because its a long shot for him to get voted in but its about future consideration. if he's not in the top ten of west gaurds that would be very sad for him for the franchise and for fans in general.

Re: The Andrew Wiggins Thread
In Wiggins' first five games (playing with back spasms) he had 85 FGA (17 per game), 35 FTA (7 per game), and 86 points (17.2 per game) with a TS% of 42.8%.
In Wiggins' last 5 games, he's had 83 FGA (16.6 per game), 32 FTA (6.4 per game), and 85 points (17 per game) with a TS% of 43.8%.
In his other 23 games this year, Wiggins has had 370 FGA (16.1 per game), 170 FTA (7.4 per game), and 488 points (21.2 per game) with a TS% of 54.9%.
Hopefully he gets out of his current slump soon.

Re: The Andrew Wiggins Thread
If I were the trainer of Wiggins I would work in one thing, running with the ball.
Running in full speed with the ball.
It is crazy that his mother had won an olympic medal in running and he avoids running.
He always makes an explossive first step and then stops for the jumper or goes for the two foot dunk if he is near the basket.
If he wants to play in the shooting guard position he needs to develop his dribbling ability and the running with the ball ability.
He needs to start to create some highlights in the open court like Lavine does.
He needs to start finishing more times with one foot and more lay ups, not only jumps shoots.
If he adds this in his game he can be the best of the basketball game.

also catching the ball, holding the ball, passing the ball, dribbling the ball. Maybe even in that order.

Holding and catching the ball means strong arms and hands.
This is another aspect that he needs to work with a lot of strength excercises especially for the arms.
I already see a difference in his body from the previous year but he needs more excercise

Re: The Andrew Wiggins Thread
Wiggins played another big game against Lebron and the team which has trade him.
I think that 35 points is his record in points.
The weird thing is that nobody posts in his thread!
Where are the Timberwolves fans? Are you not happy about this young star?
From what I read here, It is funny that many Minesota fans believe that Rubio is better than Wiggins and like him better than Wiggins.
I have read posts about trading Wiggins and I have lost my mind.
We all have to understand who Wiggins is and who Wiggins will be the next years.
Together with Towns and with support of Lavine and Shabazz this team will grow up and win a champion.
The bad thing is that all the other players are very bad players.
Forget them and lets go farther. We are one Ben Simmons addition away from the glory.

a good long article about Wiggins brought up by Feilong in Rubio thread that was buried and didn't get much traction, but it needs to be discussed.
I think the coaching stuff has to be canned for completely mis-coaching Wiggins. He's not developing in the right direction. Empty stats guy, even more than Kevin Love.

Eh, never been a fan of the author. Yes, he needs to do more than score. The defenses are collapsing on him, especially lately. He has been making a lot of passes the past few weeks that end up with open missed shots from Bazz, Prince or Ricky. Rebounding and team defense are the biggest problems. His man defense is usually very good. Its easy to forget how hard of a role he is being put in considering age and team construction.
The comments section over there is probably the worst thing I have read in a while.

Not sure what's your beef with the author, but the observation are mostly spot and the numbers are just facts. His man defense is far from very good, let's call it just average. http://stats.nba.com/player/#!/203952/tracking/defense/
And this season he has Prince to cover most tough matchups, while last season he had to truly take on best wing scorers.
And he was given the green light to score and play most minutes, I bet Shabazz and Zach woundn't mind to have it this "hard".

No "beef" with the author. I just don't think his eye test is very good. We will just have to disagree about his man defense. Is you posting that link taking into account defensive help from his team? Maybe its just me, but I would bet that a better team defense would help 2 point field goal percentage and we have a terrible team defensively. Are you really trying to tell me Zach and Bazz would like to have the same expectations as Andrew Wiggins? This board would be brutal to read if that was the case.

Re: The Andrew Wiggins Thread
You seem to be making too many excuses for Wiggins and his defense. You can knock the eye test observation in the article but what about the numbers?
And what do you mean by if Zach and Bazz would like to have the same expectations as Wiggins? I'm sure they would like to have the freedom and shots Wiggins gets and put up 20 ppg. I suspect they could put it up on better efficiency if given the chance.
