Payne looked awesome playing with Steven and Serge, and it helps cover for his defense. Maybe we'll see more of it and more Kanter with Russ?
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

Payene was getting some major hate thrown his way on the T-Wolves board in their game thread.

Did he do something that I missed? Adams was too, which I get to an extent, but Adams never purposely does anything. He's not really a dirty player, just an old-school, throwback hard-nosed player that doesn't react to any kind of physicality from the opponent.
Said in a thread about which point guards would make OKC better if they replaced Westbrook:

I think they were just meaning they were sick of seeing him carve them up, not actually hating.

Oh, and I love how Adams gets under everyone's skin without EVER doing anything dirty. He is the terminator.

Would make sense if that's what Donovan is trying to build towards. Russ and Kanter have great chemistry, which was shown last year without Durant and into this season; but it does seem like Payne might have something with Adams and Ibaka, which could be huge going forward.

I'm at the point where he's my second favorite player. He's just awesome, I love the kid.

I think they may have been talking about their Payne (Adrien), he sucks. He was a DNP.

Nah, it was ours. He was pissing them off when he lead the bench on that run in the 4th.

Payne's stat line: 14(6-11)/2/5/4 in 24 min.
Plus/Minus = +3

I'm very impressed.

What'd I miss guys? A lot of love for Payne this game.

Yeah was just coming back to edit that, my bad.

Though they also said once they'd take him over anyone on the team other than KAT or Wiggins.
Overall great game tonight, no complaints here. Dude over there was hatin on Russ though lol.

Payne was great, everyone played well, Russ trip doub, he and KD sat the 4th. Good game, would recommend watching a replay.

The stat line doesn't completely do it justice (and that's saying something since it's a very good. Line), he just controls the game so well. Even when he and Russ are in together he gets to run some offense, and it all looks so smooth. He always knows exactly where to go with the ball and is good at spreading it around. I should temper my expectations a bit, but honestly I just see a better distributing Mike Conley more and more.
