After a real flat patch following his burst out of the blocks, Giannis is building again. Mids is on track to be averaging 20+ by years end and giannis 17ish. Up from 12 last year and 6 his rookie year. But its his all round game that is impressing me of late, not just the scoring. The passing, rebounding and general ball control along with the usual defense is the most pleasing aspect.

His passing has been a disappointment to me, I thought that was his strength...

Code: Select all

SEASON   3PM-A 3P%
'13-'14  41-118  .347
'14-'15   7- 44  .159
'15-'16  13- 57  .228
Career   61-219  .279

As a rook he was able to hit a 3 every other game at a more then decent %. He changed his style, you'd think it will make his shooting better. I'm sure it will eventually.
If he makes only one 3 a game with 33-35% it will improve his ppg easily. With the made points, but more so because it will be more difficult to defend him. Now it's almost 16 pg. He'll get to 20 pg and it will be higher when his 3P% and 3PA rise. We just have to wait a little longer. So hard to stay patient...

I for one am looking forward when Giannis finally transitions to centre and averages 20 a game, even though he'll never average more than 16. It will finally complete the career evolution that matches Josh Smith's development.

Anyone think he has a chance at an All Star reserve spot?

Reserve spots tend to go to guys on winning teams and we're 7 games below .500, so I don't think he has a shot. Middleton and Monroe would have a legit chance if we were playing around .500 ball.

His third quarter was incredible all around. He was everywhere. Just keeping working on the jumper and just being able to release it without thinking. He's going to be a star.

I don't think there is any question at this point.

Giannis > Wiggins both now and going forward.

Giannis is on a higher plane and trajectory than Wiggins. He's still learning things he would have had ingrained in a top tier US high school program: defensive feel, how to use his ass, patience, vision, etc. I'm thankful he doesn't have the stench of AAU if he had grown up here. He's going to be a 500+ million dollar superstar in 20 years. With advanced medicine and luck he could still be playing. He's the new KAJ, wait for the polish.

If we can move Greg (I'll be fine if we don't), we can up his touches, run him more designed sets and start to see the real growth come with confidence.

I couldn't be higher on him.

14 ppg scorer at his absolute peak IMO, and it would be on terrible efficiency.

Has averaged 16/8/3/1/1 in January. This might be his ceiling guys, that looks like a Josh Smith line

How many TO's? Great month but definitely he seems to need to work on.
