These rookies always hit walls though Fat Kat. Yeah he hasn't been as good as he was earlier but also yeah the rookie wall hits these guys right around the all star break too. It is what it is. He kind of spoiled us though too.
I saw it coming. He had a lot of games in December where he would look gassed at the end of quarters. im wondering if he's working on conditioning alongside his weight gain regimen.
When I looked at how many minutes he played in the ACB league I was surprised it didn't happen sooner. I like the kid al ot so I'm going to be biased and not bash him once this year.

no. he thought the warriors were gonna lose so he started putting them down. this is what started it.

It's a big week for us, says Melo. But we play like this tonight. One more loss and the house starts to burn.

Exactly. But everyone already knows how to stop the triangle.. the league figured it out years ago.
It's why I praise what Steve Kerr has done.
He managed to mix Mike D'Antoni's offense, Coach Pop's offense & the Triangle to make some god-like offensive system.
The triangle can work it just needs to be updated...but then it wouldn't be the triangle I guess.

Re: PG: FJU Needs To Be Shut Down
It's been a minute since Melo really exploded for one of those huge offensive games. I know he's changed his approach this season, but I'm not gonna lie, I'm starting to think that he just might not be capable of really doing that anymore. I don't get the feeling that Melo can just go out there and drop 40. Scoring has kind of been a struggle for him a lot this season.

it's pretty much hopeless. you've had two players who've been the biggest pluses all season in melo & kp. neither of them are right at the moment. without both of them playing relatively well you have nothing.

An unfortunate side quality of "Dad Melo" might be "Old Melo."

Yeah - I really thought he was gonna get a guard or two when he said all that. Bully on me.

If he brings KD here, I'll forgive everything
EDIT: He's probably the worst coach in the league though.

He's uber smart.. he took the time off to gain a different vantage point from the announcers table and had already learned a lot in Phoenix.

Well it's nothing we aren't used to. We need to find a couple quality young guys to put next to KP and build around that new nucleus. At least KP has upside. At the very least that should be entertaining and interesting to see unfold.

You didn't address the original point Is it wrong to trade picks or or wrong to trade picks for garbage?
You know why Ainge got that pick?? Because CLE was dying to dump Zeller to offer Lebron a max. They were one of a few teams with cap space. How many teams will have cap space in 2016? 2017? You aren't getting picks for salary dumps the next few years.
There is no such thing as building the right way. There are just good and bad architects. Draft. Trades. FA. Use all of them to make the best team possible.
They wanted to dump Jack, not Zeller. But anyway, they collect picks and then deal them. Sure, it's a process but the process starts with liquidating win now assets for future picks. The Knicks have ignored this for 15 years.
Before the Knicks trade a 2018 1st for an average PG, no matter how big an upgrade that would be, they should move Melo and rebuild the right way.
They paid a 1st to dump Zeller, not to trade Jack to BKN. Thats what they paid. They also got rid of Jack in the deal. But they paid to dump Zeller.
You are not getting that type of deal this summer or the next.
Did GSW liquidate win now assets? Nope. They actually moved two picks to get their finals MVP in FA.
Guess what BOS is trying to do with these picks? Make a trade for a stud. But you want to dump a stud for no reason than just to pigeon hole yourself to one method of roster construction.
When you say the right way, it means you've learned the wrong things about team building.
They gave up a pick to move Jarret Jack, who was flipped to Brooklyn for Marcus Thornton. Jack made $6.4 million and Zeller like $1.2. They needed to move Jack.
2nd. I want to move Melo because Melo and KP are on different career archs. The reality is by the time we can put a contender around Melo his best days will be behind him. Sometimes you have to look to the future. Like the Mets did when they moved Beltran and Dicky for young pieces. The window to build a winner around Melo in NYC is basically closed. Right now he's not good enough to take a team to the playoffs.

Another reason why we should be looking into trading Melo while we still can.

Schit if I was Dolan I'd be tempted to shut Porzingis down and put him in some sort of oxygenic chamber for the rest of the year and a regimen of weight lifting and fork lifting. We seriously can not have anything happen to that young man or watching this team is goink to suck.
