Willie always does something stupid. Guy on 3rd and with the way Gomez can bunt and hell hit, I think you have to give the kid a shot. Another thing, Willie has to get over his love for Franco.

come on, if you read the new york mets scouting report about gomez i think it owuld read something like this:

willing to bunt for hit
shows he will bunt in any situation

you dont think if gomez came to the plate everyone in the field for the cards wouldnt have known this?

It shows Gomez that his manager trusts him in a big spot. Franco has done nothing and Ledee really has not done much. Gomez just does bunt for hit, the kid can actually get hits and he has shown that would not chase pitches.

no, not really.

it probably doenst help that gomez showboated a bit on the HR he hit in the first game.

this kid will have a ton of big ab's in the future, im not worried. it was the right call. he was protecting gomez.
