OK - you're the one team that could be cut out of the deal - sending Keef and Tuck directly to Miami instead. Thanks for the feedback.

This deal is straight outta fantasy island. When is the last time you've seen a 4 team, 17 player trade happen? Cutting us out, 3 team 16 player trade?? Why don't these three teams just swap rosters while they're at it.

Haha, your question should have been what do we think of a Gay for Morris and Tucker trade...

On the court and financial value is about on but putting Morris with Cousins is a terrible idea. How long before they are fighting in some form?

But hey, anything could happen, everyone thought Rondo would be fighting with Karl and Cousins too.

Yeah, I figured maybe they would get along because they're equally Mercurial. Keef is a heckuva passer - on the court, I think you win this one. Where you guys are at, I figured you might be willing to take the chance.

Vlade should be calling the Rockets right meow! I'd target Beverley.

Ariza, Capela, and McDaniels are nice too.

In exchange for which player(s)?

The Rockets aren't blowing it up. Anyone outside of Harden and Howard might be available, as team chemistry is toxic at best, but not for a downgrade.

(Now, if Howard gets dealt, all bets are off, but he'd only be traded if the yield were irresistible. Whatever that may be.)

Kings need perimeter defense and a PG that can stop the ball... I'd hold onto Cuz and WCS, so anyone outside of those two can be considered here.

*Edit* Casspi is unlikely here too but you're more than welcome to try.

The better question is should the Kings consider it. Iman is a good defender but he's been beyond useless on offense this year

Which is exactly what we need. It's not like Mclemore has been much of a contributing piece at all this year, he's been pretty useless on offense as well, and he's only three years younger than Shump which isn't so bad. I'd rather have a guy that I know can lock up an opposing wing than wondering what kind of BMac we'll get on a nightly basis.

Agree on parts of that. Perimeter d is killing us but we also need spacing with rondo and gay on the floor. If he was around the same cost as Ben, I could see it but at 10m/year with the challenges he presents on offense, I think there could be cheaper ways to address that issue. Wouldn't be an awful deal either way

Definitely true on the money part. I wonder if Cleveland would be willing to do a Marco/Iman swap. He'd probably be a better fit than Ben and the money's closer for us. Don't know if Cleveland does that deal though.

I can't see why the Cavs would trade Shumpert for McLemore.

Doesn't make sense for either team. Cavs are win now - Shump is better for this playoff run. Kings need to retain players with upside - say what you want about McLemore but Shump has absolutely no upside.

I would still love to see the Kings go after Tucker though.

Stop with the upside talk! Get Iman in here we need defenders and he's borderline elite. And since we know lebron runs Cleveland I'm sure that's why they have interest

Shump's expensive, and Ben is cheap. Mozgov is on the outs, KK contract is fair.

They may consider moving Shump for cheaper salary, and if they don't want KK shipping him to a third team and the incentive back to Cleveland may work.

Or maybe they just want KK and we don't need a third team.

JR is also expiring. So they've got a lot of money invested in just Shump after that too.

No upside?

He shot 40% from 3 one year, sure his averages are historically around 33-34%, but you get up past 35% or so what else would you want from a defensive guy?

My point was he's more or less a finished product. Which, don't get me wrong, is a solid rotation piece. He's just not likely to improve from what he is.

I just don't think we're in a position where we only need role players. In other words, if we're going to actually have any sort of success we need McLemore to become a lot better than Shumpert. McLemore shows signs of flashes of being way better than anything Shumpert can hope to produce. I just don't think its a smart move.

Plus you get into salary cap issues and the fact that I doubt the Cavs would want to do this trade. They want to add wings not swap wings.
