Ben Simmons
Antonio Blakeney

and now this

if this happens what do you think that means for that backcourt?

Blakeney and Newman play similar roles but Newman is the superior passer. He may not be a traditional point guard but between him and Ben, that's plenty of passing. You would have to think there wouldn't be too many teams that could compete with LSU offensively

i was thinking if they wanted to, at times they could run picks for the guards and allow Ben to facilitate from the high post. I know Newman could be very effective off the dribble hand-off to either attack or pullup depending on what the defense gives him and with Ben's high IQ pick and pop to drive and dish to Blakeney in the corner plenty of ways to do this thing. we'll see if Newman even signs though.

Do they have any big body commits? They should be fun to watch and with Towns, Okafor, WCS and Kamisnky heading out of the league they might get away without a huge elite big man. Especially cause all the incoming highly ranked big men are so spread out and a varying quality of teams. Labissiere (Kentucky), Stone (Maryland), Jeter (Duke), Ellenson (Marquette).

Sorry, I should have qualified that with an ~ish, a biggish recruit. They got Brandon Sampson, giving them a top 5 recruiting class atm

LSU back on the map in a big way, great class coming in. Looking forward to watching them all play, Blakeney can flat out score the basketball.

I never thought I'd say this, but I can't wait to watch LSU basketball. Mainly just because of Simmons, but still!

Sure wish there was more activity in the college basketball forum. It's a ghost town.

Anyway, think the tigers have a pretty good chance at finishing top of the SEC . Have a pretty soft schedule to close

yeah its pretty dead around here. Most of our college bball talk is had on the draft board since the end goal for the best of these kids is to get to the league. I've contemplated moving all college talk to this board but that would take forever and too many habits to break.

Fair enough. Maybe the seclusion here is kind of nice, anyhow. Can comment about LSU/Ben Simmons things without the relentless ESPN like over the top slandering spewing out from everyone's keyboards
