I disagree, but I realize that we are both projecting to the future. My challenge to you though is this.

Assuming that we go into the season next year with Okafor at the 4, and a healthy Embiid at the 5, what numbers would you need to see from Okafor to admit that keeping him was the right move?

Would break even defense, and 20 and 9 do it for you? I think that he is CLEARLY on that path right now.

From where I stand, if you wouldn't be satisfied with that next year then you are being irrational, but I have an open mind.

MCW thought he was told that too

I don't remember MCW ever saying he was told he wasn't going to be traded or they viewed him as a building block.

He has supposedly told that, but to me, you can be a building block that gets traded pretty easily. You just get traded for something better.

I can't believe that Hinkie would ever promise a player that he wouldn't be traded. It wouldn't make sense.

Jess Camerato is a Boston plant. I don't believe her tweet.

MCW was just a part of those O'Neil-developed marketing materials "The future starts now" or whatever and then got traded a few days (weeks?) after. He was being put out as part of the "core" but I don't know if he was ever told he was an untouchable building block. Would have been silly to do with him IMO.

No I was just kidding.

In terms of what Okafor was told, it's easy to see that the front office was just trying to placate what they see as a temperamental kid.

Who saw the movie, "HellBoy?" I can see Jah sanding down his horns, drinking beer and eating candy bars.
“This may be one of the best jobs in basketball right now,” Colangelo said at a press conference introducing him as the new GM of the 76ers after Sam Hinkie resigned.

This is a tough one. If things went right you could have both Simmons and Ingram, that's insane. Maybe even Dunn as well. Dunn, whoever, Ingram, Simmons, Noel/Embiid. That has dynasty written all over it. That being said if the lottery doesn't fall your way then you probably don't get a player as good as Okafor. High risk very high reward situation. Hinkie/Colangelo probably didn't want to gamble.

i think simmons is the vastly superior prospect to ingram

people compare ingram to durant, but i dont see it. durant was a much more polished scorer at texas and was consistent

I love Okafor, but I think I might do the Nets pick, Smart and Young for him.

This is tough to argue since we don't know the total package. I'm not doing it for just the pick, and could care less about smart, so what else was offered?? I really don't covet the Celtics assets outside of the nets pick, so I'm not sure how they'd make it work.

Okafor is only getting better. If we need to trade him someday we will get a great package for him.

Let's just let him breathe and grow, and wait to find out about Embiid and how they play together.

There is no rush.

I can't see why OK4 at 17 & 7 on a rookie deal at 20 years of age would get traded.

I d'on't believe there is a better deal financially, in terms of production or higher ceiling right now.

Even if Boston proposed something of equal value, there's a part of me that doesn't want to deal with a division rival, especially the Celtics. I'd be physically ill if Okafor went to Boston and thrived. ****, part of me gets irked when Evan Turner has a good game up there and I couldn't care less about the guy.

I've gone back and forth on this so much a reasonable response is not going to happen.

Why would she make that up?

And again, I seriously doubt these rumors are true. Steve Bulpett is the guy Danny leaks stuff through. Ainge is just **** with Hinkie/your org/the media right now and its working somehow.

Maybe its true Okafor was briefly being shopped, but I don't think any serious offers were made, certainly not from us. Doesn't make much sense for either team.

Ainge leaks a bunch of stuff. I doubt it has any impact on anybody important.
