T.J. Yeldon, 'the sky's the limit'

Post#1 » by UCF » Sun Feb 28, 2016 12:52 am

"T.J.'s been tremendous," said David Caldwell, Jacksonville's general manager. "As a matter of fact, the one thing that I've been most impressed with T.J. is his pass protection. Coming out of Alabama, that's one of the question marks we had. To his credit and (running backs) coach (Kelly) Skipper and our offensive staff, they worked on it from Day 1, and he turned into one of the better pass-protecting young backs that I've been around. His hands are great, he's a three-down back and, if he didn't get injured late in the year, would have been a thousand-yard gainer. He averaged 4.1 per carry.

Great article on TJ and the draft combine. It's nice to know we don't need to draft a running back this year.

Yeldon breaking 1k would be huge for the offense this year and would take some of the load off Bortles. I was pleasantly surprised with Jonas Gray at the end of the season so I agree RB shouldn't be a high priority this offseason. Still wouldn't mind a late round flyer on Kelvin Taylor, even if for nostalgia purposes lol.

Gray did come on late in the season and do a great job. If the o-line improves this year and I can definitely see Yeldon going over 1k.
