i was basically typing this same thing. He's practically broken the game at this point. It'll be like the first pro golfer who can drive the ball 600 yards right down the middle.

Curry is basically the Shaq of jump shooting. If you want to contain him, you basically have to scrap your current game plan and start over.

What a luxury the Warriors have in Shaun Livingston, guarding 1 to 3, running the point, post up smaller guards, he is such a fun player to watch... it is a shame that we got no chance to see the prime Livingston due to a terrible injury....

I've been a huge Mike Conley fan for several years, which is amazing considering his college background. Conley is showing everyone right now why he should be considered one of the best PGs in the game. He sacrificed his stats for that team to function and ran that team perfectly for years. Now you see him pick up the scoring when needed. Since Gasol got hurt, he is averaging 19 and 6 on 50% shooting and they are 6-3 in those games.

Devil's advocate - their wins over that period of time are @ Brooklyn, vs. Minnesota, vs. Lakers, @ Lakers, @ Nuggets (without Gallo), vs. Kings. Not exactly a murderer's row. They dropped a game at Phoenix as well.

Not to say that I disagree with you about Conley but they might drop off once their schedule gets a bit rougher.

It seems like they are having one of those post-injury "let's rally around Gasol with everyone having more playing time" streaks which don't last in the long run. And it fits Memphis so well because they've been this slog of an offensive team which grinds everything to a halt for so long. In a way they needed the random over-the-top creativity of Mario Chalmers shooting so many FTs per game, Hairston and Vince making semi-transition threes, Lance taking on four guys at once and succeeding, JaMychal Green and Matt Barnes striving under more playing time.

Crazy, unreliable players > non-three shooting smart veterans (like Tayshaun) is in a way what Memphis's offense needs.

But I think that it won't cut it when they face better teams and better defenses. Guys, who now are in bigger roles, will come back to earth and their lack of chemistry due to the recent trades will start to show on defense.

As you know though, I really like Memphis and I sure do hope that I'm wrong about this.

Good point about the schedule. Agreed it will be tough to sustain this pace w/out Gasol. You just don't keep playing at the same level when you lose someone that good. Points about Conley still stand though, he's always been about to score more, and efficiently, when needed, yet sacrificed his numbers for the greater good of that team. I have tremendous respect for him as a player. His only shortcoming as a player has been the lack of a deadly 3ball.

One thing about the Grizzlies though, they are full of players that hate losing. Guys like Barnes, Tony Allen, Z-Bo, etc aren't going to tolerate any half-assed effort from teammates so they're going to come hard practically every game. That alone is enough to win you a good chunk of games. They'll get out-talented by the cream of the league but they're gully enough to steal some of those and out-work the rest.

Me too. I'm actually a little surprised to see he actually played 23 games last season and that he's only 38. I assumed he was about 42 by now.

LOL, the best part isnt the awful iso dribbling or the pass into the stands that wasn't within 20 feet of another player, no, the best part is Lance pointing at his teammates after, shrugging, shaking his head, basically saying "why arent you morons standing in the place where I threw the ball?"

There's only one degree of separation between Nazr Mohammed and Wes Unseld. Rick Mahorn played with both of them.

I can't believe that for a second I let myself believe the Lakers had any chance against the Hawks.

well duh, we're chasing them in the standings. We won, which according to the basketball gods there's like a 99% chance ATL wins their game whether it's against the Lakers or the Warriors
