Zuffa is in talks to sell UFC. Saw it on twitter so it has to be true.

Most of the fight pass fighters do that. I can only imagine amateurs and the real low level pros.

Honestly though, some of the fight pass fighters these days ARE low level pros. It sounds crazy but its true. Especially on international cards.

Don't see a thread for the event tomorrow, and I doubt it will garner any discussion anyway. But after seeing weigh-in pics, it'll be interesting to see how Lombard adapts without the steroids.

I would call almost all of them mid level (sorry Mike Jackson). I mean a guy like Martin Svensson, a 14-6 cage warrior veteran, is certainly on another level than anybody on this Xtreme Knockout card (found by searching for minor MMA promotions in my area). They might have better posters though.

Any legs to this?
Pretty interesting news if true?

Hard to walk away from that kind of money.

So this is a step (or more) below orgs like RFA?

Just got back. Pretty good night of fights. Step up from what I was talking about before, for sure. Fun fights and none of the mismatches that so often litter these local events. Fun amateur fights and the pro fights were actually technical. Lots of fighters in attendance: Biggie, Koch, Jeff Curran, Felice Herrig. Random sidenote, Felice got into a shouting match with some old lady. I think the lady was the mother of a fighter who was fighting against someone from Felice's team or something. Super awkward.

And the night culminated with Rick putting an absolute beating on some gentlemen from ATT. Stopping him with knees to the body. He said after the fight he has been talking to the ufc and hoped they are watching tonight because he wants to fight for them (or bellator, or onefc). Hoping it happens, he deserves it.

Listening to mmahour, Dillashaw on. I had no idea that Faber was implying he was on steroids at a presser recently. Saying he looks different after the new testing or whatever? That's actually pretty interesting on a number of levels, given they trained together for years.

Everybody's on steroids, the whole UFC, everybody.

Its always great when you are a fan of someone as a fighter, and an interview reinforces that you should be based on their personality as well.

Masvidal on mmahour. He is a cool guy and just hilarious to me. Talking about a few years back he knew so little about nutrition that when he was cutting weight and needed to "eat healthy" he would change from mcdonalds to taco bell and order a taco that had lettuce on it for "greens" lol, then he said another option back then was to eat a lot of wendys (baked potatos, chili).

Ian McCall is an example of this going the other way, was a huge fan until I heard him on Rogan's podcast.

Rousimar Palhares signs with Venator FC, but WSOF vows to stop him from fighting

The controversial Brazilian grappler has been booked for Venator FC 3 against Emil Meek, MMAFighting.com has learned. The fight is scheduled to take place on May 21.

There's the contact dispute with WSOF, and he's also suspended by Nevada, but Italy is going to ignore that appearently.

But wait there's more! Also on that card -

Luke Barnatt vs. Jason "Mayhem" Miller
Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou vs Matt Hamill
Igor Araujo vs Marvin Vettori
Che Mills vs Roberto Rigamonti
Karl Moore vs Pietro Cappelli

McCall definitely proved himself a huge douche.

But also sorta obvious beforehand. His nickname is funny sort of but also alludes to child molesting. *Surprise*, he turns out to be gnarly-before-sympathy and not really connected to others?

Yeah I wasn't a big fan of Uncle Creepy before his appearances on JRE and it didn't improve after.

When he was on alone. He was basically a huge bully. Talked about how he and his little rich friends would beat people up just "for coming onto their beach". Its been awhile. Rogan tried to rationalize everything for him.

MMAHour Listen: Ariel fired from Fox. Going on a pretty nice rant about it. Talked about how hard he worked for them for years and was fired with a 2 minute phone call. He said that people are right as to why he was fired - the prevailing theory is that he was basically pro- fighters testing free agency and that the UFC didn't like that and made a call to Fox to have them pull the plug. He has kind of been on the pro free agency train for awhile though, so maybe it was the Rory story that broke the camel's back?

I wonder if this means that Ariel will start covering other promotions again.

Anyone listen to latest TFATK with Kenny Florian? I'm only about half way through but Florian dropped some "knowledge" on GSP. He's saying the plan was for Connor to get comfortable at WW at 200 then fight GSP at the NY event towards the end of the year.

"It could be at 170, it's probably going to be non-title fights that he's interested in. I think something like that (a fight with Anderson Silva)."

"That's what I think was supposed to happen (McGregor vs GSP). That would have been over 2 million PPV buys. It would have been the biggest UFC fight of all time. Maybe that's why Conor wants to fight at 170 against Nate. Maybe that's the fight he wants."

Florian added that he expects GSP to return to the Octagon this year, but he believes Rush won't be fighting at the landmark UFC 200 event in July.

"He's coming back this year. End of this year. Not for UFC 200, but I think after that, maybe even for the New York card. Who knows? But I think for sure he's going to be fighting."

If Anderson/GSP was on the table, why would they risk Anderson/Hall?

Good question and I don't have an answer for that. I'm not even for GSP returning but I would definitely watch it
