basketball is getting better. When I watch 90's basketball in the youtube, I get bored. too much post ups and isolations. almost no pick and roll. people think defense were better, maybe it is because they didn't have to defend pick and rolls. and 3 point game has improved, it is more difficult to defend this type of offense (P&R and spacing) insead of post ups and isolations.

his midrange game is not that bad though

The great LeDecline as the pundits like to say.

He lost his jumper which will no doubt exacerbate his decline as he loses his athleticism year after year.

The NBA has been a P&R league for a long time, Stockton and Malone have a lot of records as testament. The three point shooting from all 5 positions combined with the ungodly amount of moving screens allowed today is what makes the current offense so hard to defend (among a few other things).

Lol I never saw that comment before, Monroe isn't even as good as Al Jefferson. I was always bummed that the Kings drafted Cousins ahead of Monroe and sadder still that we drafted Monroe ahead of Paul George. Screw Monroe.

Lin's likely the best backup PG in the league. He just singlehandedly brought his team back from a 23 pt deficit and won against the Spurs juggernaut.

Man I wish we had him because he's getting literally tin cans for payment, we need a sparkplug not named Steve Blake.

hes the main free agent i want(realistically anyways) but we still wont get him. we may not even target him.

Well, this hits on one of my pet peeves. I remember when setting a screen was called much more closely. The combination of the 'no touchy' perimeter defensive rules along with the 'pulling guard' screening accounts for a good portion of why defending is so much more difficult. I can accept that some think this is better. As an old school type the screening really gets to me, along with the inconsistent calls. Times change though.

Ironically the majority of the rule changes were inacted to free up the game and allow more scoring , ie making it more entertaining to watch. and what do ya know................................it actually worked.

I don't know if defenses were better back then, but it sure as hell was harder to score in the 90's as it is now. Also with the internet, advancements in scouting as well as technology to evaluate players, and a whole ton more money available to each team/player, naturally the overall NBA talent level would increase, leading to much more entertaining basketball.

BK7 was always more Chauncey...no? Even his college scouting report has him as Chauncey-like career in a best case scenario IIRC.

But the Harden and Stucky comparisons...A guy (who still goes by a different name *cough* right now) called Stuckey better than Harden and thought it was crazy that people liked him. LOL.

i think Hilliard is above 50% shooter when he's open. Being that he's hitting the league average as a rookie, its pretty damn impressive
