if you are Sunni you believe in the Hadith, you have no choice. i know for Shia its optional
Hahaha
Do you believe that all muslims are Sunni or Shia? A LOT of muslims would never identify as Sunni or Shia because sects are clearly not supposed to be part of the muslim way of life as described in the quran.
And what do you mean you have no choice? Everyone has a choice in what they believe. Beliefs are thoughts. They are free by definition.
Im pretty confident they do, why do you think Sunni and Shia have been killing each other since Ali was assasinated 1300 years ago and the split happened and are still fighting now?
yes as free thinkers they have a choice on what they believe, but thats not what the Quran commands.
You are pretty confident they do what?
Many would argue that the Qur'an commands believers to NOT follow hadith, as opposed to commanding them to follow them.
Regarding your other comments relating to the moral comparison between christianity/jesus and islam/muhammad, it seems that you are elevating morality above religion. For a lot of people, morality has no meaning without religion, in the sense that they believe that what is "right" is synonymous with what God commands them to do. Do you understand the distinction?
