Problem is we have to fill about 90m next year.

So we'll need to get matching contracts in return who will likely be cloggers as well.

Sounds like a "2nd Rotation" of Goodwin (6'10" Wingspan), Bogdanovic (6' 11" Wingspan), and Jaylon Brown (7' 1" Wingspan) backcourt/SF, to me!! :D Assuming, of course, that we don't 'win' the lotto and select Ingram with his 7'3" Wingspan! We could make that work--have our "defensive" rotation, and our "scoring" rotation.

Scoring--1st Team--Bledsoe/Booker/Warren/Teletovic/Leuer

Defense--2nd Team-Goodwin/Bogdanovic/Brown/Len/Chandler

Sprinkle in what ever is left (Tucker, Rookies and Free Agents/Trade acquisitions [from Knight]) and voila, we have our 2016-2017 Phoenix Suns!!

OK, dream over. Here is what we will actually see:

Bledsoe/Knight/Tucker/Len/Chandler.... :banghead:

Valid point as well. I guess we'll just have to get used to him.
Heck, I even think that he should be OK production/skill wise against other second units, and his salary will not be as eyepopping in the 2017 offseason...
With that said: if we can get rid of him for a late first rounder and an expiring, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

If he would end the season with double-double games and good defence maybe he could be traded for expiring at least.
Trading Knight for little return would suck considering what Suns gave for him. So I think he is not going anywhere in nearest future.

Yup, if McD does not want to admit to an even bigger mistake than he did with the IT signing/trading, he'll have to keep this worthless chucker and his 14 mill contract. I can't see anyone trading for him in their right mind, unless we give up good value.

This is the NBA with lots of desperate owners that want to make big deals that barely move the needle. We will not have any issues moving Knight/Tucker and Chandler (though I would rather keep him) in the upcoming off-season.

“His vision for the program and his teammates is very clear,” Suns interim head coach Earl Watson said. “It’s sincere and he’s passionate. It’s determined that next year will be not even close to the same year as this year. It’s going to be better. His focus is on improving our team to where we can compete for the playoffs.”

Bledsoe, out since Dec. 29 knee surgery, has been telling Watson, “I can’t wait to play pickup.”

“I think he would be hunting down college kids for pickup games this summer,” Watson said.

This season has been terrible, so I want a ton of different players on our team next season.

Leuer? No, thank you. There are 163636372 players in the league like him. Nothing special to talk about it.

Teletovic? No, thank you. Great shooter but he can't defend a chair.

Goodwin? No, thank you. He is not playing at all under Watson the last few games...he probably is a headcase o not coachable and that is the last thing that I want on "the new" Suns. We are going to have enough youngsters next season, I would trade him for decent value and call it a day.

Chandler? He is a backup C at best and he is gonna be worse the next few years....and he wants to win. Trade him to a contender for an expiring and give Len space at C to improve even more next season.

I want Bledsoe, Booker, Warren and Len here next season.
I am OK with Tucker coming of the bench too. Just that.

I love the fact that Bledsoe is hanging with the team in spite of the injury. It shows character and leadership. I think he has the goods to be a great back court mate for Booker. We won't know until we actually see it.

Knight off the bench may be oK. But if he is at all unhappy with that, he has to go.

Did you see he was hanging out with Bill Clinton as well? I think he really IS ready for leadership.

C'mon, you can't ask for much more than this impressive squad...

This is what Tyson Chandler had to say today about the team: https://twitter.com/GavinSchall/status/712743428346368000

After reading that, I have a feeling the Suns are going to put one or all of their draft picks in play to get a superstar. Just seems like the entire organization is fed up with sucking every year and is desperate to be relevant again. I also think it will probably happen on draft night so this way the Suns can go after free agents with a stronger foundation. Booker, Len, and Bledsoe is not all that great to sell a superstar on, but Booker, Len, Bledsoe, AND a superstar looks a lot better.

They've obviously tried to get that superstar the last two summers, and I'm sure they will try again. I'd personally rather build through the draft unless it is a superstar that combined with our team puts us among the elite, but I'm not sure that's possible.

But regardless of what they try, I don't see who it could be, and it better not be someone who can leave in FA in a year.

I like the guy's next tweet.

Not play style but role. Murray honestly remind me of a more unathletic OJ Mayo with worse defense but some compare him to Brandon Roy, a would be Hall of Famer who has a goood two inches on him

Murray has an incredibly high bball iq. That's what separates him from guys like Knight and Mayo.

He's crafty moving off the ball and utilizing screens, thats about it. His assist rate(11.6%) was startlingly low for a player masquerading as a point guard at the beginning of the season and is not even a strong passer by the lowered standards of wing players. Also his assist to turnover ratio is .87 doesn't even break even, which is even worse considering how Ulis became primary ballhandler after Calipari gave up experimenting on Murray as a playmaker. Also doesn't get to the line much his ftRate is only .261, has a hard time drawing contact and doesn't have a explosive first step. Unlike Booker he has been given the opportunity to showcase himself

Booker had both lower ft rate (.223) and AST% (10.9) and an assist to turnover ratio of just 1 to 1. Granted, Murray had more freedom but his efficiency remains comparable even with higher usage and more minutes.

At any rate those three stats don't define a 19 year old and his basketball acumen. I've watched a lot of basketball and he strikes me as a more intelligent basketball player than you give him credit for.

If you got Sarver, McDonough, Watson, Chandler to tick a box - Rebuilding, Contending, Both, Unsure.

They'd all tick different boxes.

So Bron is dissapointed with his current big 3 and wants a new big 4. I wouldn't be suprised if he will leave Cleveland again

What?

Bulls don't need another C, Snell is a major under performer, Gibson is useless in our current state, and no one wants Knight atm

Any return for Knight would be fine by many here, even Gibson, but I'd rather deal directly with the Knicks to get Lopez for Knight, or directly with the Bulls for Knight, or well, any team with about any return for Knight!

Lopez for Knight would be something straightforward if the Knicks signed say Horford or Whiteside.
But when I proposed that I got major push back from Suns fans saying Phoenix doensn't need another Center.

This is wrong in two areas. First, McD certainly makes mistakes, but clearly has not problem admitting them and fixing them. Trading IT, Goran, and the Morris twins should be an example of that. Second. Knight is a supremely talented player, especially offensively. He could be moved without giving up other value. The return might be small, but he is not negative value any more than Kieff was, though fans insisted on it.

Gotta get rid of Knight for decent value... Maybe a pick between 8 and 12... Or for young prospects.

Maybe entice Bulls... They need depth in the scoring department at the backcourt.

Return to Phoenix Suns
