Agreed. GSP will have officially been out for 3 years and gone through a full acl surgery/rehab if he comes back (his second acl surgery/rehab btw).

"Fired from Fox" Ariel is the best thing that's ever happened to me. Anyone who follows his twitter will know what I'm talking about.

The Fighter & the Kid will someday be studied by cultural historians for the slow descent of Brendan Schaub into becoming the biggest **** in the world that we are witnessing. From middling UFC HW, on a three fight skid (I think).

The latest ep, with he and D'Elia discussing what they are too busy and important to now do for friends is next level. D'Elia is self-aware and doing schtick. Schaub is for real.

But Bryan Callen told me Brendan Schaub is a comedic genius.

Maybe he's playing a cheeracter.

Its been a long time since I could handle listening to their show. I swear to god there is a small part of me that just doesn't even like to support it. I feel like I'm egging on all the success talk that they always spew and I don't like that idea. Just unbearable.

Ironically I listen to them on Rogan. And I'm watching the onnit bjj tournament now where they commentated and enjoying it. Its their show specifically that I'd rather kill myself than download.

IDK if this is sarcasm, but once Dana officially announced Conor/Nate, Ariel posted this (breaking the Conor news was allegedly part of the reason he was fired):

Ariel also scooped the ufc again just a little bit before they announced Edgar/Aldo:

That's a good point, about supporting it. Maybe I should see if I can pirate it by way of torrents or soulseek. They're such repulsive human beings.

The self-regard, LOL. Brendan is pretty much just always talking about himself (and their success). If it's not explicitly about himself (he's totally shameless), it's often just a veiled description of himself.

And LOL @ Bryan's advice-giving to "young men".

Now that they have ads for, like, Avant and that personal trainer certification scam, it's beyond the pale that they're constantly talking about their integrity and the fans. What could Avant possibly be other than a predatory loan agency? "We all need money but banks sometimes give you a real hassle about loaning it to you. Not Avant. They give you money better." Uh huh. They're to banks what Uber is to taxis - I'm sure. Enterprising, tech-savvy. Bryan read about it in a Jared Diamond book or on a TedTalk or something.

The show just became way too formulaic for me in a bad way. Half hour of talk about how successful they are, an interview with someone where they talk about how successful they all are, then cap it off with more talk about how successful they are. Sprinkle in a ton of ads and Brendan disagreeing with everything Bryan says, regardless of whether or not he is actually making good points, and it just isn't even worth it anymore.

UFC cuts Jared Rosholt, who was 6-2 with the promotion.

I don't get why you still listen to it then? You don't want to support them but you still want to listen to them? :dontknow:

I enjoy it because I take it as light entertainment. It's not serious like some of Rogan's podcasts with interesting guests but I do find entertainment value in their silliness.

I would say 90% of the entertainment I enjoy is exactly as you describe. Maybe 99%. Think about sports and music and entertainment most of us enjoy. Do you watch football? Are you keen on Goodell? Use gas in your car? Keen on Exxon? Musicians, etc.

This is a frickin' MMA Board. I think we should all understand having ambivalence as to what we're consuming.

(those are far more serious than Brendan Schaub's illusions obv)

If I'm as sick of them as you seem to be, I'd just turn that crap off rather than looking for some work around to not support them but still listen to them so they don't get any ad revenue.

The atrocious showing against Nelson had to be the reason, i'm assuming.

Yeah but if they cut everyone who couldn't beat Big Country beat they'd have a division of like 10 guys. It's just another entertainment over competition decision.

Hopefully Rosholt is just the first step in cutting the entire HW division.

225 would be ideal. You'd still have heavy hitters, but guys like Mir wouldn't become obese to compete.

225 would open the door for more 205ers to move up and give the HW division a boost.
