The guy who has a 16.11 PER, or the guy with the 15.77 PER???

Here's Per36 for both (with Mirza averaging 22 min/gm, and Leuer 18 min/gm, so per36 wouldn't be a huge stretch of imagination):

Mirza--20.3 pts, 6.4TRB, 1.9 Asst, .395 3pt% on 10 att/36min, .471 2pt% on 8.9 att/36, .765% FT% on 4.5 att/36, 3.6 WS ...or...

Leuer----16.1 pts, 10.4TRB, 2.1 Asst, .382 3pt% on 3.3 att/36min, .504 2pt% on 10.1 att/36, .753% FT% on 2.9 att/36, 2.4 WS

Mirza would likely cost more, but is likely better, but he's also almost 4 years older (30 vice 26). Leuer isn't as good of a "Stretch 4", but is a bit better around the rim.

Both just had fairly decent performances in the loss to the Kings, which got me thinking on this.

Thoughts???

Easily Leuer, but it seems more and more including the FO might rather have Telly. Telly is the dangerous sniper, but Leuer is good out there as well, and I'm not sure how he would do on higher volume, but he has to be respected as a floor spreader. But Leuer is better at all other aspects of the game...passing, defense, rebounding, scoring at close range, being in right place at right time, etc.

Tele has improved throughout the year. The way he is playing now really scares people. He is aggressive and has no conscience. Off the bench as a sniper Tele has way more value. He is also playing aggressively on defense.

I like Leuer, but he does not command nearly the respect on the court that Tele does. He doesn't have as much
"gravity" as they are saying these days.

Unless we become a contender in the next 2 years, probably re-sign Teletovic to trade him.

Telly shoots the three so well that we seriously underestimate some other qualities. He has a nice back to the basket game with a sweet turnaround jumper, and is not a bad rebounder. He is just slow on defense, so faster players blow by him.

Leuer is definitely a better passer, but I prefer Tellys game.

I hope Telly and Tucker weren't traded at the deadline only because they will be traded in the offseason.

Telly doesn't have any trade value for us this offseason. He's a free agent. That's why it made zero sense to keep him. We could have gotten something out of him and prevented him from hitting game deciding shots down the stretch.

Not trading him cost us in several ways.

Teletovic or Leuer? Teletovic for sure.

But I prefer to draft a PF and start him next to Bledsoe, Booker, Warren and Len. There are gonna be some PFs available with our pick or Wizards pick that can start for us next season.

Teletovic and Leuer are not starting material...this year has been a good opportunity to see that.

Leuer for sure. Tele is great at what he does and that's shooting. But I want my PF to be able to do a little more than just shoot. I think Leuer can be had for cheaper, he's younger and I think he can be part of the core as a 2nd string PF.

Tellytubby is who I'd like to keep. He's got super long range and that really helps from having the defense collapse when our guards drive. Helps keep the defense honest too when we will eventually have Len in the post. I don't think the age really matters either because MT doesn't have much wear on his body and his game doesn't rely on athleticism. His clutch factor is huge too. If we're able to keep him for maybe 7-8mil a year that would be nice. 9mil would be fair.

The fact that I came to the trade board and read three pages of a Teletovic/Leuer debate is heartwarming in a "oh look he can still feed himself" sort of way. Lol.

I have a nagging feeling Rudy Gay is going to end up with us.

Only if we end up with Cousins and Knight being shipped off while also still having Len/Bledsoe/Booker.

It is amazing what happens to teams he leaves...Memphis turns into a 2nd round or possible 3rd round playoff team, then Toronto, so if we'd like help Sacramento go from nothing to deep playoff team, we should take him immediately.

Hm, that doesn't sound like a pleasant feeling, but: what if they get desperate to keep Cousins happy and offer Gay + #7 for Bledsoe? Or Gay, #7, and Collison for Bledsoe and Tucker? I'd have to think about it at least a bit.

In this draft? I don't think there's much to think about. It's a no from me.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

If we get Gay and are able to sign Love, we should draft Furken and give a few extra drinks to Steve Albert before every game and let him try to handle that lineup.

Everything is so fluid right now its really hard to narrow down a good strategy. I am looking forward to seeing what the landscape looks like closer to the draft.
We need more “Shazam!” and less“Heartbreak Hotel”.
