You always expect a loss. It's your schtick.

The same reason why people are already talking about the second round. Miami is crushing Charlotte through the first few games and we're starting to play extremely well too.

Pretty much.

Monta Ellis was 3/9 tonight, Hill was 3/7, PG was 6/19. Who else was Demar guarding that he let by to score every time?

Carroll did in PG, Ellis and Hill were cleaned up by Patterson and Biyombo after they went past DD en-route to the bucket.

You do know that part of defence is directing your man into the big help defenders, right?

Was waiting / hoping for this game, this was the team I was hoping would show up. Seems like they have figured it out, and taken their games to another level. I think guys like Joseph, Carrol and JV are really helping with the team mentality.

For the DD hate, yeah I see the frustration with the efficiency but I will give him props for his start to the game in the first quarter. He was awesome at a critical part of the game. If the Pacers go on a run in the first quarter, it would have gotten the crowd more into it and could have had a big momentum shift. But the Raptors sucked the energy out the building early and DD had a huge part in that. The thing I didn't like about DD tonight was a play with him ignoring JV on the block AGAIN when he was calling for the ball, DD noticed it and swung it instead , JV had deep position as well. Starting to think DD is a bit jealous of him.

Can't believe how good Carrol is playing this early after missing so many games. I mean he played what 2-3 games before the playoffs started? Shows a lot about his character. I also loved his comments about he is not satisfied at all with the defensive effort the team had tonight. Said they put the Pacers on the line twice as much as they were and they need to figure it out. I'm sure it was a backhanded comment to the officials as well, but it was nice to hear none the less.

I really hope the Pacers are completely deflated and the Raps take it to them. I can see the Raps winning in 5 games, they seem extremely focused right now and trending in the right direction.

The raps could win the championship and the same collection of whiners will be saying "They haven't accomplished anything...repeat then they've proven something."

We dominating them and Lowry and DD still had bad shooting nights. I expect a blowout once they get really going.

The next game will be closer, but if we stick to the game plan, we should win once again. Home up 3-1 in the series spells the end of the Pacers.

Let's hope it happens. We'll see if the NBA agrees.

i wonder if the nba is OK with 4 first round series in the east going 5 games. charlotte is toast. i think detroit is done also. our series and the hawks series can have the refs factor in. no real stars amongst the 4 teams.

The fact is - even with the refs and their poor calls - I think the Raptors still beat Indy. Our defense last night was a sight to be seen. It was magnificent. Sure - the Pacers also missed some easy shots but for them most part - we absolutely stifled them, leading them to feel more rattled.

The problem is the disparity between the teams. You can fix a game when it's involving two teams who are competitive with each other but the more dominant a team is over another, a few calls here and there can't affect the outcome as much. I can assure you that if any ref wanted last night's game to be closer, he would have been in tough to get it done without calling a phantom foul on us every trip down the floor.

Yeah exactly - this is basically what we saw last night.

Haha thats wild. I just dont understand how they dont sell out that building when the tickets are so damn cheap there. It just shows you how thriving of a basketball market Toronto is. Its like a breath of fresh air. This kind of support where a large amount of fans go to the opposing building in the playoffs doesn't happen often - maybe for Laker games? But honestly - Its great. I could see in Miami a lot of Raptors fans being there as well. Hell - I may even do a south beach trip and time it with a few games - that'd be great.

Hit Em Up wrote:DeRozan is getting wayyy too much hate.. It is George's job to stop the best offensive player.. that is why he is a max player, he is a two-way player.. he guards players like LeBron and KD to stop them..

Imagine how many points Carroll, Ross or Powell would score on George.. all they would be able to do is spot up outside the 3 point line..

DD did a good job on passing it out at the right times.. only thing I would complain about re those end of quarter ISOs

Lowry missed 13 shots, Carroll missed 9 shots, DD missed 12 shot with George covering him..

end of the day, it was one of the best playoff wins in this franchise..

I agree. He's getting way too much criticism. And you know what - I was starting to buy into it - but last night you see that sure his shot selection may not be conducive of "team play" - we still need him taking shots. We still need his ability to go 1 on 1 - to keep the defense honest. I do think he needs to be a bit more of a facilitator and realize that he doesn't always need to take the shot - especially at the end of quarters. He rarely makes a pass on the end of the quarter ISOs. He needs to realize the defense is just going to close in on him - why not kick it out for a better look?

I really think the opposing team really plays a big role. If it was LeBron and the Cavs demolishing them, im sure Pacer fans would come out to watch that. I really think people not showing up to these games is not respecting your opponent as much as not respecting your team. Raptors still dont have that respect yet, no one really knows much about them down South and only heard of their Playoff failures.
DonMega wrote:Forgot about that whole ball thrown at casey thing, pathetic fans. I never had any issues with pacers or their fans but that made me angry. Hope we obliterate them. That fan should have been kicked out of the game.
Also anyone notice how from the 4th period 5 min mark to around 2 min mark suddenly all the seats where empty lol. Literally in a 3 min mark it looked like hundreds if not thousands of fans left the game.

Also stuckey kicking patterson, vogel constant crying to refs, players like pg flopping and crying to refs made me absolutely hate pacers from now on.

Watch the start of the 4th Intermission, you see a number of people already starting to leave then.

Yeah I could see that for a small % of people - but in the playoffs - doesn't it not matter as much who your team is playing against? Maybe youre right though - I can't understand it because I'm a Raptor fan - but maybe for people in Indiana or other teams - thats just how it is.

They've actually been better without Bosh. They were actually in danger of falling out of the playoffs when he was in the lineup.

Return to Toronto Raptors
