Ariza trade value?
He really doesn't seem like a D'Antoni type of player.
thinking a trade for a mid first rounder
Possibles:
Phoenix Suns (pick 13) They have the 4th overall pick too so maybe they would be willing to part with the 13th for a veteran and a future protected pick? Is Ariza a huge upgrade over PJ Tucker though?
Chicago Bulls...(pick 14) .Pau Gasol might go to Spurs so that frees up some cap space for Chicago. Last season they used a platoon of Dunleavy, Snell and McDermott at the 3. If they are rebuilding though they might want to keep the pick.
Denver Nuggets (pick 15). This was our pick from the Lawson trade. They also own the 7th and 19th picks.
They have a lot invested in Wilson Chandler and Danilo Gallinari so I don't know of they'd be interested in adding Trevor.
Boston Celtics ...(pick 16). Boston is way under the cap so absorbing Ariza's salary wouldn't be a problem. They have Jae Crowder already at SF though who is similar to Trevor but younger. They also own picks 3 and 23.
Memphis Grizzlies (pick 17). Matt Barnes is UFA and Lance Stephenson has a team option. They traded Jeff Green. So they could really use Ariza.
Detroit Pistons (pick 18). They have Marcus Morris and Stanley Johnson at SF so they probably would not be interested in Ariza.
Indiana Pacers (pick 20). Paul George is back but maybe they need Ariza to back him up and Monta Ellis. Or move Ellis to bench. Ariza seems like a Nate McMillan kind of player.
Atlanta Hawks (pick 21). Kyle Korver is winding down his career and should come off the bench now. Trevor can possibly join Dwight in the frontcourt next to Millsap.
Charlotte Hornets (pick 22). If Batum leaves they could really use Ariza. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist missed almost the whole season but he's pretty much been a bust for being the 2nd overall pick in the draft a few years ago.

Would Sabonis be available for any of those picks?
Other than trading Harden, I'm in favor of trading anything to move up to get that guy.

What are the odds the Rockets will make a play for Tyson Chandler with MDA on board?. Tyson had his best years under him. Perfect big screener for D'Antoni's system.

Sports illustrated says he goes 14th
Draft express says he goes 18th

Re: Ariza trade value?
If he gets moved it is because they are looking to clear cap space so at that point it comes down to much does a team need him to want to help out the rockets. I think Morey can work another Asik type magic. With it being a clear the capspace type of deal it will be done after the draft.
Really doubt the rockets are getting a pick in this draft

I`m pretty certain the Utah Jazz would love him. We`re not very deep on the wings and with Burks being injured way too much, Ariza would be a terrific asset off the bench, or even starting ahead of Hood. #12 for Ariza?

That works for me! Hood is a good young player though. Are jazz looking to trade their pick ? They tanked pretty hard at the end of the season to get into the lottery when they really should have made the playoffs ahead of the rockets.

They weren't tanking, just lost games they should've won. Why would they tank for three spots and missing the playoffs? They had their first either way I believe

to get a chance, however slim, of getting a top 3 pick and to avoid getting embarrassed by the GSW like the Rockets were.

Re: Ariza trade value?
If the Rockets are looking to shed more contracts, then I think that Ariza would be a valuable guy for a lot of teams. My first choice would be not to move him, but as of right now the only players I think are safe from being traded are Harden and...well, Harden.
Who could use a guy like Ariza, and what could the Rockets expect back?

Don't know if OKC has anyone of interest, wouldn't trade any of the 4 core guys obviously. After that there's not a ton to trade.

If trading for a player: Ariza to Clippers for Redick or Hawks for Jeff Teague
If trading for picks/cap room: Ariza to Sixers for 24th and 26th overall picks

I guess I don't see the fit for OKC. I'm assuming that their four core guys are Durant, Westbrook, Ibaka & Adams? I'd guess that you want Ariza off of the bench for that team?
And yeah, I don't see a good return for Houston in a straight-up deal. There could be a multi-team deal, I'm sure.

Cam Payne maybe? Idk if OKC would be willing to do that, but IMO they should go all in on win-now after being so close to beating the Warriors

Yeah, he'd be off the bench, instead of Singler. I'd have to check salaries b/c if they dealt Payne they'd need a PG back so it would be tough, unless there's a 3rd team or something. I wouldn't trade Payne straight up just yet, he looked pretty promising early. I may try to find something around it for the trade board though if I can even the value somehow.
