Yeah for real I'm sure this year it gets ugly as they benefit from every Celtics loss. BKM 2.0 will be a graph of what team's fans are wishing injury (or reveling in it) on others and all the associated wailing and gnashing of teeth.

My guess is the Brooklyn fans outpace the Boston fans there in a tough race followed by lots of 'we only did it because you did it first' excuses.

I guess one worry is that with no picks the next two years and the ever increasing cap, they try to overpay for a whole bunch of 1+1s just to get to mediocrity. And then just hit reset in 2018-19 and get some picks and hope they can keep what few assets they have. But that is an extremely long road for a fan base, even though in the short term they'll get some tickets sold that way.

I'm pretty sure Nets fans don't care at this point, at best it's 46th pick in the draft.

No, if Boston gets to swap picks next year, then it's in the Nets' best interests that the Celtics are also awful. The more losses for the Cs, the higher their pick is.

Oh I forgot, they do have a pick next year, but hopefully we'll be 3rd in the east and our pick to be 24 or lower.

Considering BKN doesn't have huge cap space, they're going to have a tough time cracking 30 wins, which would place them 6th and tied with New Orleans this year.

They won't get 1st tier guys. I think Conley if he loses his **** mind in the summer might be the only one they have a shot at. They should try for 1+1 overpaid deals like the one we gave Amir this year. At the very least they have to try and screw us out of the top 4..lol

Agree with this but if I'm Conley I'd much rather stay in Memphis or go to the Knicks or Houston instead. Really the nets best move is to trade Brook and Thad now for assets and try to get younger. Their absolute best case scenario right now is treadmill city, moving Brook and Thad while their value is highest is their best bet moving forward

Yeah there are better places for him to go to. But who the hell knows. Maybe his wife wants to go to New York or something. lol

I also agree with them trading those guys and I actually have been saying that since the trade deadline. Had a debate with some Nets fan about it, forgot his name though. Idk what kind of value they could get, but if Thad got me into the top 20 this year and Brook got me into the top 15 + another player I'd trade them without any sort of hesitation.

Anyone remember when Brooklyn was getting hype as a trade and free agency destination for Dwight, Durant, etc.? Prokhorov really _______d the _______ there. Letting you all put in your own verb and noun, Mad Libs style- screwed the pooch, sh*t the bed, etc.

If I were the Nets, I'd be trying desperately to move Brook Lopez to the Thunder for Kanter+ (Payne? A 1st?). I know Kanter doesn't play defense and can't win, but he can make a splash and make them look exciting, he's younger, he's healthier, he'll give them some buzz.

But Brooklyn may be the new Philadelphia- name one free agent who goes there willingly. They're going to be overpaying Kent Bazemore and Jeremy Lin, or maybe they throw big money at Fournier or Harrison Barnes. Jeff Green. Jared Sullinger. There are guys they can get, but only in the tier the Knicks chased last season.

Introducing your '16-'17 Brooklyn Nets starting lineup:

PG: Jeremy Lin
SG: Evan Turner
SF: Harrison Barnes
PF: Jared Sullinger
C: Bismack Biyombo

Spoiler:
Yes, I know that's completely impossible. But, it would probably be surprisingly entertaining to watch.

Yeah they made a lot of noise at the time that they'd be getting older this past year but that the pick swap was totally irrelevant because Boston was heading to rebuilding and Durant was heading to Brooklyn.

I also don't think anyone knew Deron Williams was so far gone. He seemed like a little weight loss and motivation away from being closer to his star level.

I'll take Thaddeus Young with that 45th pick. Throw in the 58th for old times sake.

Report: Nicolas Batum Optimistic Of Quickly Agreeing Upon Deal With Hornets
MAY 31, 2016 2:35 AM

Nicolas Batum's agent is optimistic of being able to quickly agree upon a new contract in free agency with the Charlotte Hornets, according to a report.

Batum would like to participate in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament with France, which would require him to agree upon a new deal and for insurance to be obtained.

The tournament begins during the first part of France.

The Hornets acquired Batum from the Portland Trail Blazers last offseason.

Scratch one guy off Brooklyns list.

I am nervous about Brooklyn reaching mediocrity.
