Hawks-76ers discussing deal

Post#1 » by Hawkeyes » Thu Jun 2, 2016 9:58 pm

@ShamsCharania
Atlanta and Philadelphia are discussing a deal centered on a Jeff Teague and Nerlens Noel package, league sources tell The Vertical.

I would love Noel.

Would be a Homerun for the Hawks.

I'd like to have him for sure.
The writing has been on the wall for Teague for awhile now. I've enjoyed watching him play and have been thankful to have him, if this is was indeed his final season with us.

Chicago and San Antonio are also interested. I googled Nerlens Noel and these two headlines came up along with us pursuing him.

Schroder and Noel would be nice blocks for the future. Congrats. Good insurance for AL too.

I'm going to stay out of this thread. I don't want to jinx this for us.

Hawks-76ers discussing deal

Just hoping that Bud doesn't do something stupid like demanding a first round pick in addition to Noel.

Anyone else think the negative reaction that's going to come prevents it from happening?

I'm thinking this signals a complete retool if this goes through.

Hawks-76ers discussing deal

Great question...hard to say.

I'd guess, no. Horford would make the perfect veteran complement/mentor for a young guy like Noel.

But, a retool is indeed likely.

No way this is just for Teague straight up, though. What other useful vets in their prime could Philly be asking for?

At this point, no. I don't think there will be too much negative sentiment considering Teague is an expiring and Dennis appears ready to take the reins...

76ers fans are raving mad about this. The thought of trading an up-and-coming defensive big man for a 28 year old approaching Free Agency has them (rightfully) up in arms...

Apparently, we could also end up with Covington and Stauskas.

I'd love that...but undoubtedly we'd be giving up much more than one year of Jeff Teague.

Thabo? Korver? Millsap?!?

No, a source from the libertyballs at SBNation suggest the deal is centered around NN for only Teague. Maybe 21 is added, but If that's the case, then just leave Covington and keep our pick.

I didn't see any of that. I just see them parroting the same report from Shams Charania...about a package 'centered' on those players.

An incredibly lopsided deal at that.

Philadelphia Inquirer is reporting a larger deal:

source has confirmed that the Sixers have had multi-player trade talks with the Atlanta Hawks.
