More and more I'm getting the feeling we aren't selecting anyone at 9. I think we are trading back. There is just too many of the same caliber players from 8-20. Really hoping we can grab Denver's picks for 9.

My board looks like this:

1. Simmons
2. Ingram
3. Murray
4. Bender
5. Dunn
6. Hield
7. Brown
8. Valentine - dont see SAC taking a big. They will reach here.
9. Chriss(to Denver)
10. Ellenson
11. Skal
12. Poeltl
13. Sabonis
14. Davis
15. Prince (to Toronto)
16. Korkmaz
17. Luwawu
18. Jackson
19. Hernangomez (To Toronto)

Ross and 27 gone on draft night.

Are raptors actually going to use their #27 or is this just more smokescreen?

If the Raps see someone available at 27 who they really like and think is a better prospect than Bebe, Wright and Bruno why wouldn't they take that player?

Masai is overrated.
I dont get how so many people believe in the raptors, they have zero to chance to win it all.

I'm sold on this guy

At this point, I'm fine with drafting a guy like Poeltl, Chriss, or Furkan

Wasn't Masai & Co out there recently too?! Furking confirmed.

I'm teasing because I'm sure there are multiple scouts out there and it's not like a phone call can't work too lol but good to at least hear that he's in as an option. I think he most likely realized there's a very good chance that he will be drafted in the lottery with us, MIL, ORL and Utah being interested.

I thought someone reported recently that there was a big issue with teams giving fake "Guarantees" to players before the draft

What trade are you suggesting here?

#9 + Ross + #27 for Den's #15 + #19?

If the pick is Furkan that's just fine. A young shooter with the potential for physical growth is a quality pick. I have compared him to Belinelli in the past, but imagine a taller Belinelli . A 6'9"-6'10" Marco is a rare breed. Furkan could turn into that with time.

Yea, I could see Masai making a trade like that if he likes two guys on the draft board or if nobody falls on draft night. I don't mind Prince at all. He'd be a perfect fit on our team behind Carroll. I'd still prefer us to draft a PF with the #9 but I won't be mad if we opt for another talented prospect.

How many times does it have to be repeated? Masai has explicitly said that he isn't going to load up on rookies. HE is not going to trade to get more picks. If you actually read the thread before posting, then you would know this. Maybe you should read before posting? Sorry for being so harsh, but it's annoying to see the same baseless trade proposals posted on every page.

True, but anything could happen. Maybe if he trades for more picks, we send out Wright or Bebe.

When you look at the guys we've been working out, It makes sense that people would be speculating about trading down for multiple lower picks.

Take Furkan at 9. It's not a reach. Especially if other lotto teams are eyeing him there.

Not that I want to trade down, but things can always change..especially if Masai has a guy he really likes. Dude was trying to tank a few years back. How'd that go?

Trading for another pick also doesn't necessarily mean adding another rookie to the roster. He can stash or trade 27 away.

i think furkan got a promise from either phx or denver.

im leaning on phx b/c they might try to create a splash bros-lite version with booker and furkan.

There seems to be mass consensus on the top 8
Simmons, Ingram, Bender, Dunn, Murray, Hield, Chriss, Brown.

Sucks that we miss the talent cut off. Same thing happened in 2012 (where the top 7 was great with HB, Beal, MKG, Lillard, etc and we picked 8th - Tross). I think the top 8 in the draft are very promising. Raptors option 1 should be taking any one of those guys who falls out of the top 8. That way we snag a good blue chip prospect.

After that it's tough.

Skal, Sabonis, Ellenson, Poetl, Davis and Furkan are all in play for us. I'm not nuts about any of them and think they are all flawed and risky. I don't like European wings or bigs with poor measurements or mobility.

After reviewing each guy I keep swaying back and forth on Skal and Sabonis.

Sabonis has the pedigree, motor, and is the safest pick for a role player. You can safely say he will at worst be Psycho T. At best he's Scola with a reliable 3 pointer. If he can become a consistent 3 point threat I really like him.

Skal had promise coming into the college season but never really broke out. He's got tremendous size and pretty good mobility. He is a prototypical modern day big man. Can shoot, block shots, and move. He fouled a lot in college and doesn't look like a great rebounder. I think at best he's Kristaps Prozingis - a long mobile big who can block shots and shoot. At worst... he never plays a meaningful minute in the NBA. He will probably take 4-5 years to be productive.

Very tough choice. Under the circumstances of our team, I think I go with Sabonis. He is a good culture fit and can probably contribute immediately. If I'm looking at the future I go Skal - way more upside.

Boston wants to trade 3 I think they want Sabonis and will not re-sign Sullinger

Would they do 3+31 for 9+27+Ross??
