If Dwight opts in what do you guys think of a straight up trade to CLE for Kevin Love?
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

I disagree. I think Cavs regret love's contract. He doesn't seem like a very good fit with LeBron and Irving.

They'll probably regret whatever they give Dwight too though, and they probably won't want him to post up so he will get grumpy like he did here. They should probably try to move love I just don't think they'd do it for Dwight. Maybe Dwight and Ariza for Love and Shumpert or something along those lines if they can get Dwight to agree to a decent deal

I'd opt in if I was Dwight. More money and more options in 2017. I can't see a team giving Dwight 23 mil in his first year.

Why would someone with his injury history and milage risk it instead of getting security on a four year deal?

he isn't young anymore
his health isn't getting any better
if he wants more money it is better to opt out and sign a new max year contract
he already burned the bridge
noway he will opt in

Didn't he opt in with Orlando before getting traded to Lakers? The smart move would be to opt out but of course this is Dwight so....I think he truly believes he's still mvp material so he will wait for the new tv money to kick in like what Durant will probably do.

i may be wrong since this is too long ago
i thought he did that because no team will trade for him unless he opt-in

The rockets tried to trade for him even before he opted in with Orlando. This was before harden was a rocket.

he gave Orlando his wish list: Lakers, Nets, Mavericks
Rockets isn't on his list so it doesn't matter
Lakers and Nets won't do it unless he opt in
i don't remember much about Mavericks offer

What if Cuban offers Matthews, Justin Anderson and Salah Mejri for an opted-in Dwight?

Then we'd have a lot of salary on this team that I would not want.

True. I just wonder how GMs see him. Since it seems like guys like Horford, Whiteside, Biyumbo will get money thrown at them first plus 2017 being a better FA class

13 days until we find out. Dwight has to decide whether to opt in or out by June 29 according to Nate Duncan.

Morey has no power over Dwight's decision. The draft is a week from today

He can't do that, it's in each individual players contract when their opt in date is and there's no deviating from that
