Every time I see Thon I can't even imagine drafting him, it would be another Bruno utter shock moment lol because it would be the #9, I really don't think he's even gonna be on the board at #27 especially with BOS and PHX having extra picks to gamble on upside. For all the trash people talk on him everything that has come out of the combine and workouts has been positive about him so I some times don't know if it's just that a bad reputation that preceeds him or he's just a guy that shines in non structured play which happens a lot with guys.

He's just so weird to gauge because I actually have gone back n watched games of his online n I didn't get a sense at all that he was anywhere near as bad as so many make him out to be and he actually seemed pretty damn good tbh not "lost" or like a role player like so many make him out to be. Every time I finished watching one I was left feeling like some (not all) of his struggles seemed in part to having a crappy team around him especially when he played against American high schools. Gotta remember is hard to do amazing when teams key mainly into you n many times when these American HS teams come up they're the best in the nation, there's still a major gap in the GENERAL level of talent b/w Canadian n American teams. Everybody is ready to label him a bust before he even starts n it's weird because he was being recruited by every large school in the nation (UK, Duke, NC etc).

Although Fran stole my "Curious Case" catch phrase that I was using for Bentil lol it is far more appropriate with Thon because it's so hard to get a read on what's the truth about Thon and what's just myth (good or bad). It's really going to be interesting to see what Thon is like in 4-5 years from now.

I'm very doubtful at this point that we take him because I haven't even heard so much as a peep that we've even looked in his direction but who knows, same was said with Bruno and it's not like we couldn't have seen plenty of him already with him playing right in our backyard n Masai seems to pay a lot of attention to Basketball Without Borders which I believe Thon was the MVP of against a ton of the top recruits.

nba.com consensus mock draft

Some of the mocks are a couple weeks old though. The breakdown at 9 is:

NBA.com - Henry Ellenson
DraftExpress - Jakob Poeltl
ESPN.com - Henry Ellenson
SI.com - Jakob Poeltl
Sporting News - Deyonta Davis
CBS Sports - Henry Ellenson (older version has Jakob Poeltl)
NBADraft.net - Domantas Sabonis
USA Today - Marquese Chriss
NetScouts - Domantas Sabonis
Bleacher Report - Domantas Sabonis
Basketball Insiders - Henry Ellenson

And there's this little tidbit:

Eight players appear in the lottery on all 12 mock drafts: Simmons, Ingram, Bender, Jaylen Brown, Buddy Hield, Jakob Poeltl, Jamal Murray and Kris Dunn.

Maybe reading to much into this but Tolzman eludes to knowing the group of players we will be picking with the 27th pick. Seems as though we might be bringing in the two rookies Masai was sort of trying not to do.

Also, his description of Brice Johnson just screams role player.

I'm still okay with picking him at #27, but we shouldn't have any grand dreams that he's going to be a multiple time all-star in the future.
Interviewer: Championship #2?
Ujiri: Hey...We're gonna get it. I don't know when it'll be, but we're gonna get it. Just like I said we'll get the first one and I said I didn't know when we'd get it...But we will. Guarantee you we will.

Apparently the Bulls are giving him a serious look at pick 14, so he's likely gone by the end of the lottery.

The more I watch and read about him.the more comfortable I am with taking him at 9 (though my preference is to get two mid 1sts and take him and Prince,Lawuwu or Korkmaz). All of these guys projected to be there at 9 aren't going to ever get us past Cleveland or Golden State.

Maker has the potential to be a superstar and the best player in the draft and I'm starting to believe he's worth the gamble. Sure we could play it safe and draft a Demarre Carroll clone, but making safe moves like that aren't going to bring us closer to.a championship.

We will be very limited in what we can do once Demar and Lowry get their extensions and the draft is one of the very few options to greatly improve the core. We are still light years away from competing with the big dogs of the West.

Those chevrons on the back are making me feel ill. Why would you introduce our future players to this?!

Yeah if 2 on 2 makes you look bad. That means he can't shot or create his own offense needs to be spoon fed. And isn't a elite rim protected or defender to warrent that

If we could somehow pick up a 2nd rounder, I think Joel Bolomboy is an intriguing PF. He is 6'9" with shoes with an over 7'1" wingspan. Seems to run exceptionally well for a big and has a 40.5" max vertical. Downside is that he is a 4 year senior so, what we see is probably what we'll get.

Seems like the draft caps are always ugly. They're probably gonna clash with a suit regardless.

They should just make them a solid colour with the logo on the front. None of this extra lettering or chevron bs.

Le snipre.... I can see Boston taking him early as 3, he has a chance to be Lillardesque.

Nope, he's not. The full tweet below. Basically, he's only down to go against top guys. No going against a chair. If this guy is there at 9 you can't pass him up.
"Kris Dunn hasn't done a team workout with a little more than a week to go before the draft. He's refusing to do 1-on-none workouts with teams. Will only workout for teams if it's against Ben Simmons, Brandon Ingram or Jamal Murray source says. Dunn is currently projected in the 3 to 8 range. Sixers, Lakers, Celtics, Wolves, Pelicans and Kings have all shown interest in Dunn."

Seriously who the hell has been doing our marketing & branding?! Our Playoff "swag" was a flaming pile of dog crap too.
