Not that I think Lin or any of these guys should have to take a discount, but I think that's faulty logic in a salary-capped league. If you're just giving money away then you're better off just taking less so your team can sign better players so that you can better compete.

What do the players owe the teams? It's a business, especially this and next seasons with the new cap. It's not about basketball anymore. If he's already gotten paid, like some of the other guys that are already getting $22, 23/yr, sure, take a little bit less. But guess what, those guys are going to get paid more when it's their time.

The teams and owners are getting paid more too.

It's not about that. He should be demanding more with the new cap. It's really a representation of how much a player's valued, either he deserves it or not. Chandler Parsons is getting 4 yr around 95M offer, reportedly. Get the money, give it away, donate it, or whatever, but get the money.

You must be disgusted with Duncan and Dirk.

Why would I be?

Hope the Good Charlotte Holy Hornets would grant JLin big money and a starting spot, amen.

Never said other teams, only used them as comparisons, and it could be the Hornets too, but not sure after the 120/5 deal with Batum though.

Woj is a joke on Lin's part.
Watch NBA since 1998. Huge fan of A.C. Fiorentina, Spurs & Tim Duncan, Yao Ming & Linsanity, Brooklyn & Coney Island. Former Brooklyn Chinese resident.

It's official. He signs with the Nets.

Really need a combo guard to replace him. Austin Rivers? Or we take the risk by sign Chalmers?

Best of luck Jeremy! I knew the Atkinson connection and the chance to start would be too much for him to say no to. I don't blame him one bit for signing with them. Now go out there and have great games when you aren't playing us and prevent Boston from getting a top 5 pick.

I think most of us knew this was coming in recent days. Hopefully some of the Lin fans will check in and hopefully Lin will ball out huge in Brooklyn

3 for 36. Very fair deal for both. Hornets could have afforded that deal if Marvin took 12, but lin gets to start and try to build his own team. Can't blame him or hornets.

Wish him the best. He will be missed.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

I still don't think it was about the money for Lin. He wanted to start and prove himself.

So which lin fans are going to stick around and keep rooting for the hornets?

Good for Lin. He played his ass off this year and was a key part to getting us back to the playoffs. He deserves the money and the chance to start.

For the simple fact that we couldn't keep but two free agents I think this was the best for the Hornets and Lin.

I hope he does well and stays all three years so he doesn't have to move again.

Return to Charlotte Hornets
