And OKC has the last word.

Wait, how is Boston 1 or 1A but GS is in the lead?

I am not buying this GSW stuff. Yes they are in the mix as are the C's and OKC. If he picks GSW he is not they guy I want leading this Celtics team forward anyways. Celtics need an alpha dog, not a follower regardless of how talented.

I don't follow the Warriors as much as the Celtics but from what I do now he is a reasonable reporter that doesn't just make stuff up. He has to have gotten this from the Warriors brain trust.

If Celtics lose this, IMHO it will be from not handling year 1 of the rebuild better. After that, Ainge recovered pretty nicely but with better moves in year 1 Boston would have a much stronger hand right now to play. Celtics have a strong hand to play thanks to Billy King but Celtics could have been the perfect scenario.

Emerging great team without KD with the ability to add KD/Horford and still have picks coming. If he hypothetically wouldn't leave OKC for that, all of the meetings were a joke.

Of course he got it from the GSW brain trust, which is why it's MEANINGLESS. It's their take. Means next to nothing.

Of course KD "likes" a 73-win team and doesn't want to leave the org he's been with his whole career. Some real Woodward and Bernstein-level reporting.

I agree with you here. It just means GSW still appear to be in the running.

Good. Just as long as he's not on Golden State to begin with....

The bolded part was an underrated move by Danny. It sent a message to Horford that we want you regardless of our other plans while telling KD that the Celtics mean business about bettering the team even prior to KD's commitment.

Ok, **** is happening fast so here is what I know:

It is down to just GSW, BOS and OKC in that order.

GSW has the roster to be the odds on favorites for years.

BOS has everything else and the Eastern Conference with an aging LeBron James as the only thing in the way.

OKC has Russ and it is home. They get the last pitch and reportedly going all in.

It seems like this is seriously close fellas. I mean as close as I've ever seen one of these. Horford was more of a lock.

Danny Ainge should be on the phone with Kevin Durant and his rep until he makes a decision on where to go.

I won't bad mouth KD if he chooses GSW. I really think the whole alpha dog things is ridiculous.

What I will do however is discount any title that he wins next year not necessarily put him ahead of a Karl Malone in the all time player rankings even if he does win a title or two with the Warriors.

I don't care if KD is an alpha dog or not, Boston could seriously use the guy. C's already have players like Smart/Bradley/Crowder that really go after it. KD would be a great fit.
