Pass on Middleton. He doesn't make the Celtics into a championship team.

Any sense of what it would take to get Middleton? Felt like they were asking for an arm and a leg pre-draft.

Re: What now?
Going in for Westbrook and using those Brooklyn picks plus jaylen would end DA's career. Don't trust him for ****.

You wouldn't be trading both picks. Just one. It's is an Expiring contract. You don't trade too much for a player on the last year of his contract. I like Isaiah Thomas, but he is not a star player. Russell Westbrook is.

Bradley and/or Smart and picks was the asking point then. I'd imagine it starts somewhere similar.

It's time we stop overvaluing the Nets picks, and cash in on them. Before they lose their value.

Re: What now?
Jesus christ if we do this Westbrook thing I'm done. Whether he stays or not. Westbrook is not getting a title when we have an all star team in the league. To piss away valuable future assets to lose in the conference finals and maybe the finals once or twice is a **** joke. I'm really losing faith in Ainge as a GM if that's true.

This makes zero sense. These picks are not going to be the 17th pick in next years draft. Top picks turn into all stars.

research next years draft class a little. 2017 pick has a really good chance to be a special player.
Jordan Walsh > Lonnie Walker and Charles Bassey

Gotcha. Seems reasonable as long as Brown/BKN picks stay out of it. Bucks fans massively overvalue their players, but I dunno about their front office..

Cashing in on them is drafting an 18/19 year old budding superstar. Trading them for a star that doesn't put us over the top is pissing away the potential to actually build a serious contender.

Yes I heard it was special, but I'm taking every star player in the NBA right now over whatever prospects are in 2017/2018 draft. I want the sure thing over what maybe in the future.

The Celtics can win 55 games next year and add a prospect equal to if not better than Jaylen Brown. If Wade leaves Miami then they will match the offer sheet on TJ and Crabbe may get matched too. Brooklyn is going to be horribad next year

Actually it does. You put Westbrook on the Celtics right now and they're facing the Cavs in the ECF. Same goes for Demarcus Cousins or Blake Griffin. Prospects take too long develop, and it's not granted they may become star players. I feel like some people overrate prospects, because they like the new shiny object and like to see what it might become. In my opinion, I just prefer established NBA players over prospects who may or may not pan out.

If there are n special players, rest assured we'll be given pick n+1.
Today we missed our only chance.

I don't give a **** about the conference finals. The Raptors made the conference finals. That is not getting over the top. You have a chance to draft an elite prospect in the 2017 draft (there are at least like 4 guys I like better than Ben Simmons). In 10 years will you be content with the knowledge that we gave up on a star to lose to Lebron in the conference Finals a few times? I certainly wouldn't.

No one is saying the Nets picks wouldn't be Number 1 or 2, they might be, but I'm still going to trade them for established star players. No hesitation at all. Other people might feel different, that's ok. It just my preference.

No one is going to be Lebron for a long time. That type of talent comes once in a generation. Just have to agree to disagree.
