Agreed. My biggest worry would be them not staying. I wasn't terribly surprised LeBron left Cleveland. Their coach and GM were not championship caliber and he had very little help. But after Durant left OKC after 7-8 years? I don't think it's worth the risk of giving up those picks and assume we can keep them here after only one year. I mean OKC had a top tier GM and what turned out to be a surprisingly good coach imo with a very good cast around him and he peaced out. Could be different with these guys but don't believe that's gonna be the case.

However, I have seen enough from Danny to trust him if he believes this is the best course of action. I just seriously hope we aren't only shooting for Banner 18 but also considering Banners 19, 20, etc. if all this goes down

Nobody can offer more than we can/will. Any other team that CAN offer more - won't, because they know they can't make a pitch strong enough to Blake next summer to beat ours. And they probably think Blake's leaving.

We'll be damn good, but I want all-time good. Like the first GPA year, we just rolled over people. No Garnett or Ray in this deal, but younger guys.

And I want to be San Antonio level, but Ainge got lazy and careless about the margins when we were on top, did nothing to keep an eye to the future. Seeing same now is discouraging.. I know you have to pay a high price for star talent, but this just has a whiff of not quite working out, like Yao and TMac in Houston, or Dwight and Kobe. Glad Danny's a "gambler", but save a couple chips.

Maybe things with Blake never got mended and there's still dysfunction there. Or maybe Blake has given them reason to believe he's opting out and exploring free agency. Or maybe they don't think they can credibly compete with the new improved GSW and want to try to rebuild and cash in their assets. Or some combo of all of the above.

Boston gets: Blake Griffin, Paul Pierce and Russell Westbrook.

Boston gives to LAC: Amir Johnson, Tyler Zeller (S&T for 1 guaranteed year at around ~$6.5 million, just enough for salary matching) and 1 BRK pick + another first rounder (LAC pick back maybe?) and/or Jaylen Brown.

Boston gives to OKC: Marcus Smart, Jonas Jerebko, R.J. Hunter, Jordan Mickey, James Young + 1 BRK pick + another 1st Rounder or two (future BOS 1st and/or MEM 1st).

If LAC would rather, Boston will give up Crowder, but would prefer not to.

Is it 2 seperate deals or a 3 team deal ? Cause we can't trade 5 for 1 with OKC.

As far as both packages, in the first one its 1 BKN pick + 1 first OR Brown ? Or both ?

I think he has some cover, this account tweeted about this possibility before

I'd push for Amir/Zeller/BKN '18/LA '1st for Blake, Smart+ for Russ, MEM 1st, BOS '18, give them Olynyk if they want him, keep BKN '17 and Jaylen and we're a contender who still has upside.

Why LAC would do this:

Doc loved the way they played with Mbah a Moute at PF and going small. He knows he can't beat GSW and they have no future assets coming either. Paul can walk in a year. They need to cover themselves.

Why OKC would do this:

They don't want to lose another superstar with nothing to show for it. That is basically it.

Why the packages aren't mind blowing from Boston:

Without assurances that the guys would stay in Boston, they aren't giving up a bunch of prime pieces for what could be a rental.

Amir/Avery/LAC pick, BOS '19 for Blake I'd do too, replacement 3&D shooting guards to be a fourth option on loaded teams, easy to get. Jaylen steps up, Smart could slide over.

We're keeping Rozier in all this?

I get why they might want to part with Blake. But they would need a name coming back who'll help them now. That puts a dozen teams ahead of us. Atlanta could offer Millsap. Utah could offer Favors. Portland, CJ McCollum. Chicago, Butler. Minnesota, Wiggins. Cavs, Love. And so on.

We can offer the most to a team that is rebuilding. We make sense as a partner for OKC, Chicago, Philly, teams like that. The Clips have Paul and Jordan and a coach famous for not playing draft picks. We have nothing that makes sense for them unless it's a three-team deal.

I haven't digested the ramifications of these rumored trades, but Griffen and Westbrook are 27. KG was 31 and Ray Allen was 32 when Ainge made his last Perfecta bet. True, Blake and Russ rely more on athleticism, but the age difference is considerable.

Ok so a few things to address:

I'm not in Las Vegas anymore but text and DMs still work here in FL just fine.

Also, I have NO sources with Boston. Everything I am getting is coming from other places. But I trust all of them. I just don't have enough confirmation to take it public.

The Griffin trade is far more likely than the Westbrook trade, but Boston is attempting to go big and put together a team that can compete with Cleveland and Golden State.

Just a thought. Is there a way for a mod to hide a thread for just members? If someone lurking ends up naming Smitty on Twiter or even linking the thread then it's going to suck.

Neither LAC or OKC is overly interested in Rozier from what I've been told. OKC would hand the reins to Payne. LAC has Paul and a million backup PGs.

Rozier was of major interest to SAC, but that entire part of the deal seems to have fallen apart or out of favor entirely.

Smitty, do you think the Clippers might take Rozier? We got Smart and Demetrius Jackson who looks REALLY good, so we don't really need Rozier who's potentially inflated his value in Vegas

This window would be longer but not as big. Ray was HoF in Seattle, KG was neck and neck with Duncan. Getting KG would be closer to getting Curry today..
