Well, my offseason grade for the Heat just dropped a few notches.

Looking forward to Lance Stephenson next.

Guess we're trying to teach our young guys about adversity.

Does this mean reduced minutes for JRich and TJ?

with that talent signing for less money, he's I think a welcome addition.
Question now, who will be cut before the deadline to be in a max 15 players??? A trade coming???

Someone needs to forcefully remove Riley from the Heat offices. We've become a joke of an organization.
For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?

I'd rather have Beasley at this point.

Completely unbiased opinion but I heard this signing and it sounds like a typical shrewd Riley move. If he becomes a cancer in the locker room you cut him quick. No long term investment no real salary cap hit. The salary cap is going up next year so it looks even better come next year. If he can become 50% of what he was supposed to be this is a steal. Spoelstra can coach top players in the league so he should be able to get through to Waiters(hopefully). There's virtually no risk in this signing and the reward can be him becoming a real NBA star. He's young and hasn't reached his potential. Several players have seemingly turned it around early on in their career guys like Dirk and Jermaine Oneal. In the league where you need talent to win or eventually trade for that talent this can be a diamond in the rough move.

This is what happens when you buy a piece of art because it was offered to you at a price you told yourself it was too good to pass up. You closed your eyes and pictured it brightening up your living room, but when you got home it clashed and didn't go with anything in the room. He comes cheap and well below people thought he would foolishly get, but it's going to come at the cost of minutes for guys like McGruder, TJ & even Briante. So now Ellington is gonna be a $6M James Jones, stashed on the bench for 3Pt situational shooting? Maybe Riley & Spo think we still lack a shot creator off the dribble & he may turn out to be just that. Or dare I even say, Spo may want to still run Wade-type plays using him (hope not). But bottom line, is that this dude is playing for a contract next year. I bet his agent told him to take this deal since there will be national eyes watching Miami and their replacement at 2 guard. I don't like his BBIQ, and if he's benched, I don't think he'll be quiet, as he'll see himself losing money. He's on the Heat, so I'm rooting for him, I just liked it better before with the idea of the young scrappy guys getting their experience.
Question: if we cut him 3 months in due to detrimental reasons, do we get hit $3M next year even if it's a player option since it's the team cutting ties?
