We were expecting Uncle Beno and got the SG Mario Chalmers.

Don't insult Rio like that. Chalmers has a career TS% of 55% and during our title years he was at 58%TS. Dion Waiter's on the other hand has only been above 50 once... for reference league average TS is about 53.5%.

Also for reference, Uncle has a career TS% of 54%.

Well Hartfordwhalers had our off-season as a good one before the Dion Signing. He must think we've had an excellent off-season now.

Wade, Deng, JJ, Amare, Green out

Dion and scrubs In.

Everyone we've brought in doesn't add up to JJ let alone Deng or Wade.

Worst off-season ever.
I remember when the Dolphins were perennial contenders

He went all in for Durant and struck out, chit happens.

Also Amare/Green and even JJ out arent big losses at all.

Dion is also very stupid. Probably leads the league in long 2's... he'll lead our tank with pride. Let the man get buckets as we collect the L's.

That doesn't stop it being a very very poor off-season by Riley. His worst in years.

I agree that the 3 you mention are not big losses but then again they are comparable to the players that have been brought in. Wade and Deng are massive losses however.

This is a net loss much worse than when Lebron left.

I've got to keep thinking about whitey and our youngsters. But unlike many of you I don't think a season of losses would be good for them at all.

Winners win, losers lose.

Maybe they see a HIV positive homeless mans version of Jamal Crawford in him, he has to be the bench lead... No way should he be starting over Tyler or Rich and damned are we if we play them both out of position + off the bench for the likes of him. Doesn't seem like a productive tank

We've got to be tanking. There's no other way to explain getting Waiters over an uncle Beno. The thing I cant' get over is - how the hell are we giving minutes to the young players we should really be developing?

I think we all agree these players HAVE TO get at least 32 minutes each :

Dragic
J-Rich
TJ
Winslow

Then you just gave Ellington 6 Mil$ (to never play? makes no sense), and Waiters would not have signed if he thought he'll never get minutes.

It just doesn't add up.
Even if Weber and Mcgruber never ever get any minutes (which they should in a developing year) - it still doesn't make sense.

PG : Dragic-34 / TJ-14 / Weber-0

SF : Justise-34 / D.Williams or J.Johnson or Babbit - 14 minutes

SG : J-Rich-32 / TJ-16/ Whoever left - 0 minutes

THAT'S IT. There's ZERO minutes available for Ellington and Waiters, if you give Rich and TJ 32 minutes each. WHICH IS A MUST.

What the hell are we doing?

And that is my issue.

I'm not a fan of a tank, but I could accept it if the process was dedicated to giving the young dudes a trial by fire, but bringing in these failures that will demand minutes goes way too far.

How do you give Tyler the poison pill and not have him starting off bat? He has to be... Things have to start making sense soon, so he has to be, right?!?

...

We should've perma-banned when we had a chance

^Ellington seems like the kind of guy that will be used in case of foul trouble/injuries. A slightly more predictable Gerald Green, I guess.

Waiters...I just don't know.

I feel like JRich is a better fit starting next to Dragic. More defensive versatility and chit.

But who knows, maybe Tyler will start. That would be cool too.
